New video board

Does anybody have any idea as to when they'll start moving dirt on the new Kidd Brewer Stadium video board? I'd imagine that something that size would take a few months of work to have it delivered, built, wired, tested, and ready to go. I'd imagine that they would want it up and running before students move back in August, too.

I can take some pics of the progress if it's about to begin.

Will soon be driving by stadium every day on way to work. Surely, I'll post some stuff on twitter.

Wifey and I are taking a pottery class every Tuesday starting today on campus. I will take some pics regardless. They'll at least be modern before shots.

I drove past the stadium today and didn't see any of the parts out there as of yet. Here's to hoping that we'll start seeing some movement soon!

Exactly how it went. I was the only male in the class, but not the only person who didn't shave their legs.

I will figure out how to post images directly at some point in my life. In the meantime, here's the progress (lack thereof) today. Looked like other progress was being made athletically on the field. http://imgur.com/3kaMsKs

I was wondering about that, too. Is this new video board going to come with a new sound system? It'd be a shame if we got this shiny new toy only to be reminded of the negatives when the sound starts cracking during a game. I'd prioritize a new sound system in the stadium over the HCC video board, but both are desperately needed.

From the article on App State Sports:
Kidd Brewer Stadium's display will be the largest in the Group of Five at approximately 2,500 square feet to feature 13HD technology, the same technology featured in football venues for Duke University, University of South Carolina and professional football's Carolina Panthers. Kidd Brewer Stadium will also be receiving new ribbon displays and a custom audio system integrated with the video system. For basketball and volleyball in the Holmes Center, App State will be one of only three universities to receive centerhung displays with a convex curvature in their arena. App State has partnered with Daktronics on both new displays.

We are in Lucy Hamilton's class. I really enjoyed it. Very therapeutic (not as much as fly fishing but who'd expect that?). I love to create things, so I believe I will enjoy the class.
