Re: New video board
These concrete blocks won't be curating for 10 days, as the beams are already going up! They've got two up and are currently working on getting the third one up as we speak. This thing is going to be truly massive, just in height alone. The middle beam alone stretches almost halfway up the press box and well above the top of the west and east stands. Even the smaller beam to the right of it is taller than both stands. Also, you can see in these shots that they are pushing forward with removing the old video board. The old speakers have been removed and are sitting on the track for the team to listen to music right now.
Full steam ahead!

Re: New video board
That thing is going to transform KBS this fall. Wow!
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Re: New video board
Just had a thought. If we do end of adding seats on the grass hill endzone area does this new board change how that can be done? Looks like we couldn't go very high?

Re: New video board
It seems more likely that we'd go with a version of Ohio State's horseshoe (before they added the "plug" at the bottom). The rock under that grass on Miller Hill is serious stuff!bigdaddyg wrote:Just had a thought. If serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you.

Seems to me that it will be deafening sitting below that bad boy. I know you can't have it both ways but...DaphneUrquhart wrote:It seems more likely that we'd go with a version of Ohio State's horseshoe (before they added the "plug" at the bottom). Look at the video board going up at Wake Forest 10 years ago. Do the beams look familiar?:).
I'm so excited!!

Re: New video board
Column measured by compression.
Beam measured by flexure.
Same material and shape different application.
But in the end who gives a flip .. I knew what you were saying sooo..

Re: New video board
Yea that was like a 10 million dollar gift.... I doubt ours is like that.... but that doesn't kill any of the excitement and wonderful job our athletic department has done with this.
