I've met Matt and his folks. They seem to be really great people. Don't let the picture fool you. In real life he's a big guy ... BIG guy. I suppose he could play tight end, though I'm not sure why he would when he could make some pretty big holes for our running backs to barge through from an OL position.

Don't think we brought in 6'6" 250 and then put 30 lbs on him to play TE.

He does appear lean in that picture. I have been browsing the roster myself and was thinking we already have good talent and depth at TE. Did I overlook something?

Thanks. Like I said, just asking some questions. Definitely didn't know we already put 30 lbs on him. Also, was thinking he was a redshirt for this year.

I have this dream in my head that this is the year of the App State TE. Nothing to support that.

I also had the dream....Duffield did most of the blocking and Reed caught most of the TDs. One of them became a SB conference team selection.

I'm going by his listed weight on that link (280); I'm not positive about his weight when he arrived but I know he was leaner (probably when that picture was taken). He redshirted last season.

We have always had a "smaller" o-line and have still been able to break runs and block with our system. I can't wait to see what this young man and the rest of the team can put together this year.

Didn't Shawn Clark pull over an OL Grad Student with 1 year of eligibility from Kent State? I saw one reference to it in May, but haven't seen anything since

It was well covered in the Lodge. He's here and moved in, and will be on the field this fall.
