How close is too close at Kidd Brewer?

Unread post by NattyBumppo'sRevenge » Tue Jun 13, 2017 3:00 pm

Looking to upgrade seats and was wondering how close on the lower level East Side is too close. Because of the track, the angle to see the action gets tough the closer you get, but wasn't sure at what point is too close.

I sit in the upper deck on the East side and love the view. Even the lower deck is elevated, but I wouldn't get anything in the bottom half of the lower section. Just my opinion though.

I don't feel like any row is too close in 111 for my own preferences... However, as you move down field either direction, it's probably not a bad idea to be 4+ rows up.

I'd stay anywhere above the student section level.

Kidd Brewer wasn't really planned all that well. the lower level sections have too gentle of a slope. Nothing we can do about it now unless the track removal plans include lowering the field....and that doesn't seem likely.

I sat in the 5th row lower level on the East side for Miami last year and the view was great. I think we were around the 35 yard line so I can't speak for the corners.

What is an optimal grade for a lower level? There must be standard at this point for new stadiums. One question I have also wondered is since east side upper level starts 10 or so feet higher than top of lower level, couldn't they build metal stands on top of existing lower level concrete and alter grade where back rises closer to bottom of upper deck. Thus fixing bad lower level grade problem.

I had the same thoughts as last poster. Almost as if you would walk up 4-5 steps then walk down the new sections on the lower level. Hopefully when the track leaves, this could be done and extend seats closer to the field but with a higher angle giving a better view from down low. As for the question, I'm in 110 rows f and g with about 14 others and I like our vantage point just fine. The angles aren't great towards the other side of the fields sidelines of course but then again, I can always watch video screen on replay for any questionable calls. Imop

Thanks all, this was very helpful! Ticket office is really good about working with you, so if we decide we don't like being that close, I'm sure we can move back around where we currently are for next year.

I had season tickets last season about midway up on the east side between the 45 and 50. They were pretty good seats. Really not a bad seat in KBS IMO

As a new grad and first time season ticket holder, how am I looking if I am in section 109, row C?

Don't know about the look from 109, but want to congratulate you on graduating and becoming a season ticket holder!

You'll have a great view. In my experience as a young grad, the people sitting around you are just as important with regards to how much you will enjoy your seats. I have an awesome view from my seat in 204...but there are several fans with more "life experience", to put it nicely, that don't exactly exude a lot of rowdy enthusiasm during games. Thankfully Big C and company are there to offset the calmer fans.

111 is the rowdiest alumni section at the Rock. We're dead center in 111, 50 yard line about half way up, and it's a great view, surrounded by cool people who aren't afraid to stand up and yell. You get a lot of sun in the face on the east side, but those squints turn to comfort when the cold weather rolls in.

I love the east side. Our seats are in 213, a few rows back, and they are perfect for me. Still close to the field, but with a bird's eye view. I too was concerned about the slope of the lower section. It's all about your preference though.

I've been in 111 for many years. My first seats were too close-I think it was 2nd row, I moved back to G and all is well. You may like it up on the rail but I did not.

Co-sign. Make sure the people sitting around eventually become great friends. That is one reason why the Appalachian Family works.

Awesome, we ended up getting moved to 111 row G. We're pretty excited!

You mean to tell me that with all of our arguments on here we may have been exchanging high fives in Section 111? To echo Gonzo's point...It probably is the rowdiest section.
