I didn't think we could "legally" get a larger crowd than the Miami game. Unless the fire marshal says so.

Agreed. Maybe if some of the people who were watching from outside the stadium decide to jump the fence this time...

They are the 65th best team according to Orlando Sentinel (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/c ... ft13a-1gp1)...Troy is 68, fwiw.

I want our guys to be fired up and well prepared to do substantial damage. I want to jump on them early and frequently.

Does no one here remember what happened the last time Dave Clawson came to Boone? That was a nightmare game for arguably the best offensive player in Appalachian State's history. The offense is different now, yes, but Dave did a good job almost each time we faced Richmond while he was the head there.

The fired up resulted in a TD on Miami's first offensive play. Cool and calculated would be a better way to put it. For better or worse, the Miami game was treated like a Super Bowl in Boone last year. The Wake Forest approach should be business as usual for the team, lest they repeat the performance against Miami.

I think it is important to both teams, but I don't see how it is their most important. They play some nationally ranked teams and an ACC schedule.

Just hoping they don't want it as bad as we do.

My wife and I are officially young alumni Yosef Club members and season ticket holders as of today. I'm glad to know I'll have tickets for this game.

I agree it's not their most important but it's highly important because if they can't leave Boone with a W then their chances of a bowl invitation are slim as the rest of their schedule is tougher for the most part. They are definitely not going to overlook us or anything like that...we'll need to be at our best to beat them.

You want to make a statement? I say we beat Wake like a dog. ECU has battered some ACC teams in Greenville, it's our turn tin make a statement. It's been a long time since our last "P5" win, but I'd love to see us beat the brakes off he Deacons and let the whole country know we are here to stay.

Hell, I'll call it. 31-10. Mountaineers.

Toughest OOC schedules:
Wake Forest: Presbyterian, Utah State, at Appalachian State, at Notre Dame. Will Appalachian State be Wake's toughest non-conference foe? It's not completely out of the realm of possibility.

Not bad company App vs Notre Dame, who is toughest opponent.

Wow...that article is pretty much saying we're perhaps tougher than Notre Dame? I know they didn't have a good year last season but still...that's some major street cred right there.

I see that Georgia is also playing at Notre Dame. It will be interesting to see how App and Notre Dame match up to the same opponents.

Agree 100%...it'd be interesting if we beat Wake and then Wake beats Notre Dame. Same thing could happen with UGA.

My wife and I have been at the beach for a couple of days. Yesterday, some people put up a UGA tent next to us. I went over, introduced myself, told them I was going to a game in Athens and asked for tips on parking and such. They were very nice people. A lady in the group came up and started detailing parking and routes. Then she asked, "Which game are you coming to?" "Appalachian State", I responded. Then one of the guys said, "I'm worried about that one, especially with us having Notre Dame the next week! You guys had Tennessee last year and they lucked out winning the game on their own fumble."

Turns out he is friends with Coach Sloan and was very complimentary of our coaching staff and program. It's encouraging to witness the respect opposing fans have for our program.
