Re: Fall Practice
Along these lines and not just specific to Meadors - does anyone know how we are holding up on injury front 2 weeks out from UGA?Chaz wrote:A Democrat article about Hennigan made mention of injuries to the WR corps namely meadors. Said he had been out a while. Anyone know what's up?

Re: Fall Practice
Disclaimer: this is more of a guess than anything and could easily be way off base.
I have a sneaky suspicion, and I could very easily be wrong and hope I am, that Meadors injury is a bit more than a day-to-day thing. Some quotes Ive read from the coaching staff over the last few weeks leave me with the eerie impression that he may be out for a good portion of the season. Again, I have not read anything that concretely says that, or even vaguely, but it's just a feeling I've got after a few weeks now.
Other than that I don't believe there are any major issues on the injury front.

Re: Fall Practice
If true, and I hope not, how many times does it make for Meadors now? He has missed a lot and/or played hurt a lot while at App.
We need some other guys to step up now.

Good luck getting that info from the App politburo.Chaz wrote:A Democrat article about Hennigan made mention of injuries to the WR corps namely meadors. Said he had been out a while. Anyone know what's up?
They don't even list times for the closed-to-the-public practices, much less provide injury updates unless they're season ending.

Re: Fall Practice
No need to share any of this info. Why give our opponents an "edge"??? However, it does create some anxiety among us diehards!!!

Re: Fall Practice
Reading the latest WSJ article, could we start a true freshman at UGA? Worked out ok one time we did before.

Re: Fall Practice
Starting a true center at freshman, none the less. That surprises me. I know we lost out on a few lineman the last cycle, but thought we had better depth on the o-line. However, congrats to the true freshman pushing for the starting job.

Re: Fall Practice
If Hannon wins the job, I don't think it will be a case of winning it by default. Sounds like Neuzil has done pretty well too, and could still win the job.The Rock wrote:Starting a true center at freshman, none the less. That surprises me. If anything maybe Edge-Campbell hasn't gotten the center responsibilities down as much as coaches once hoped, but it still sounds like he'll probably start at guard.
Now depth at tackle might still be a major concern.

Re: Fall Practice
TEC has had noted "strike zone" problems with snaps. Probably for the best he goes to guard.

Re: Fall Practice
Here's a heat map breakdown of the completions and incompletions for Jacob Eason, UGA's starting QB. He's really good throwing to the right and under 10 yards. He struggled a bit with the intermediate to long throws, especially over the middle of the field. I'm sure he'll improve from his freshman campaign but hopefully he'll have a sophomore slump on opening weekend.
