Georgia Weekend

Unread post by MtnMan09 » Wed Aug 16, 2017 12:50 pm

Is there any word on whether the YC will be throwing something at a bar/restaurant on Friday night before the game for those of us that make it down early? They've done a really good job with these things the past two bowl games.

Would be good to know. I'll be in Athens on Friday too.

My crew somehow missed out on Georgia tickets so if anyone has 4 they don't need, I'd love to have them. They're insane on stubhub and I'd much rather sit with App fans than with Georgia fans

I'll be posting up Friday evening for the USMNT vs. Costa Rica World Cup qualifier. The official AO bar in Athens is Beef O'Bradys (which is my current plan) but if someone would rather pick a different spot for App fans to gather I'd be down.

Athens has so many cool bars/restaurants, I can pretty much guarantee that I wont spend my time at the Beef O'Bradys unless there's an actual event. The soccer qualifier is a good catch though, I forgot that was that Friday night.

Any last minute hotel advice? And I would be interested in a couple good restaurant recommendations from you experienced folks.

I'm an old AO but won't make it there for the USMNT match. Hate I didn't plan better!

Settled on The Royal Peasant Pub (http://www.royalpeasant.com/) after a recommendation from an Athens local, seems like a pretty sweet spot to catch the match.

I'll have on red/blue stripped Pulisic jersey, if anyone plans to join!

Royal Peasant is a great bar...and the best bottle shop in Athens is right next door, so you can do your pre-game tailgate shopping before or after.

Probably going to join you there...I'll keep you posted!

I'm hearing that Hotel Indigo will have a large App State contingent and likely a gathering Friday night.
