New article on our website from the World's Greatest App State Student Section Fan (Yeah, BGP titles are a bit lengthy).
There are probably several MMB'ers that know this person but his name will be protected to protect the innocent!

Excellent write-up. I'm still trying to figure out the origin of the kickoff chant, I absolutely can't stand it and don't remember it until my super senior year in 2014. Maybe I was just oblivious to it before then. Can't wait to pretend to be a student again this Saturday!

I always heard it as "You Suck Asshole," but I agree that it needs to go. Some traditions die hard I guess.

Agree! We sound like a bunch of classless idiots when the students start chanting profane ignorance...also miss Peacock on the sidelines with the 3 Nat'l Champ trophies

There was a noticable drop-off in the quality of the student section just as that chant became "tradition". Coincedence? I think not.

Agreed that the chant needs to go. However that is not the reason for the drop off in student attendance. The student attendance most games has been better than elder statesmen past few seasons.

I wasn't referring to quantity but quality. The students just aren't as loud and passionate as they used to be. That chant is emblematic of what a joke the student section has become. No class.

It's an article, not podcast episode.
Also, the writer has never left before the end of a game so it probably didn't enter is psyche to have to mention that to anyone!

While i think this article is true and well written, it is not going to be seen by students. This, or something like this, should be sent into the student newspaper and a link posted on their social media accounts to really get it spread.

They stopped doing that?? Yes, it's been a long time since I've seen a game in person.

Agreed on the quantity vs quality thing. The chant has all but gone away anyways.
The student section has had no leadership and the better fans out of students can't get the good seats. I have stated multiple times they need to do priority seating for football based off of other sports attendance.

Seems like the current students no longer know how to correctly initiate the APP>>>>>>>>>>STATE chant, doing both parts of the chant themselves and letting it die out quickly.
On the bright side, the "you suck asshole" chant seems to be dying out too.

I'm pretty sure I heard buglers dream a couple times today? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but espn 3 was sketchy to put it lightly.

I was in the marching band '04-08 and we played Bugler's Dream every single kick-off, no matter what. Since when did they stop doing that?

It's supposed to be played every time App kicks off. Not when we are receiving the kick.

I was there and don't remember hearing it but then again my ears were ringing from the PA system.
