I have no inside info but based on that report I expect Moore to give it a go.

With this I'd hope some quick slants from the slot would work. Open up the run by forcing them to drop a DL back some.

I think this depth chart is officially a "non" announcement. Satt isn't giving any information to anybody. Just my opinion.

Or perhaps the double TE set will be more effective running against that alignment. 4-2-5 is designed to defend against speed more than power.
Has Wake released a depth chart? I'm not that familiar with their defensive personnel.

They have several good players on D. Two DL players to watch are DE - Ejiofor and DT - Rodney. The Deacs have a solid secondary with SS - Glenn, FS - Bates and ROV - Kemp.

Re: IT'S THE WAKE FOREST GAME ---
Something not yet discussed this week is special teams. Kickoffs and punt averages seem to be even, but they likely have an edge in the return game. I'm not sure if Wake's FG kicker has had an opportunity to kick long FGs, he's 6-6 with a long or 32. Last year he was 60% on FGs over 40 yards, long of 46.
Wake's redzone TD % is roughly 60%, same as ours.

Thanks. That's a pretty big 4-2-5 (rush end is 250, rover is 220). Probably won't be easy to out-physical.
Would be a great game to get Meadors back (or Mock, but that won't happen) to match up some size on that 5'10" corner. Maybe Letman can step up in that role.
On the flip side, glad to see their receivers aren't too big. That's been a problem for our small corners in the past.

Re: IT'S THE WAKE FOREST GAME ---
Looking at the prediction thread, I'm surprised how many people think we'll get blown out, and how scary people find their offense and QB in particular.
I don't know if we'll win or be able to move the ball much, but I'll be surprised and very disappointed if we get rolled. I think we can bother Wolford.

Seriously. It's amazing how people can go from thinking we have a legit defense against Georgia, to Chicken Little-ing against the Deacs.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 11:47 amLooking at the prediction thread, I'm surprised how many people think we'll get blown out, and how scary people find their offense and QB in particular.

Don't think its the D they worry about, but when your D is on the field too long because your O can't move the ball, it becomes an issue.Appftw wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 11:56 amSeriously. Wake sure will.....boonetown1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 9:13 amI want to see a 2 TE set this week with Reed (6'4) and Papenheim (6'6). Surely we could hit one of them across the middle to A. open up the outside throwing and B. make the D back off the line.

Wake's offense hasn't faced a defense like ours yet this year. Their RBs are good but they aren't Chubb/Michele good.

Re: IT'S THE WAKE FOREST GAME ---
I'm talking about the reality that our defense held Georgia to 31 points even though they were on the field for an inordinate amount of time. If they score more than that on us I will be shocked. Wake has some weapons on O for sure, but seeing them light up a bunch of sub-par (some even less than sub-par) teams does not scare me. Ye of little faith.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 12:13 pmReality sets in Appftw....We saw us play and Wake play.Appftw wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 11:56 amSeriously. I hope Wake feels the same way...that they're going to blow us out based on those first 3 games (ours and theirs). They've got Florida State next week...EastHallApp wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 11:47 amLooking at the prediction thread, I'm surprised how many people think we'll get blown out, and how scary people find their offense and QB in particular.

Re: IT'S THE WAKE FOREST GAME ---
Legit concern to be sure, but I have seen a number of comments along the lines of how Wolford is going to run all over us, we won't be able to contain him etc.biggie wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 12:03 pmDon't think its the D they worry about, but when your D is on the field too long because your O can't move the ball, it becomes an issue.Appftw wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 11:56 amSeriously. I guess what I'm saying is that our O obviously has to be better or it won't matter, but if they can move the ball even reasonably well and avoid multiple turnovers I think our D can keep Wake in check.

We've got a legit defense that's getting hung out to dry by a struggling offense.Appftw wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 11:56 amSeriously.
