"Crappalachian stadium seats 26,000. They have 20,000 students. Don't think I'll take shit about crowd size when Wake has a stadium seven times their enrollment. Dumb hicks."

"On any given college football Saturday, anyone that would say the over all experience of attending a Wake Forest football game is less than that of Appalachian is just fucking stupid."

As someone who grew up in Winston-Salem and as a somewhat Wake Forest fan (my father-in-law graduated from Wake and always got me a season ticket so I went to a lot of WF games growing up) I can say their fanbase is one of the weakest in the entire country. Winston-Salem has no love for the Deacs and you will see more UNC blue, State Red, App Black, and Duke Blue than Wake Gold and it isn't even close. Their turnout to games is abysmal and I vividly remember one time they did not have a single student in the student section against a fairly good Duke team in 2012 or 2013. I will be bringing my Father-In-Law to the Wake game on Saturday and even he is excited to see a game with an actual football atmosphere.

Looks like only 1 clown on that thread is delusional. Every team has one...

Rather than openly talking smack, there is actually one key thing that those of us who hold season tickets can do to "give our all"...don't sell your tickets on the open market to WF fans.
I was on GSO Craigslist last night and saw several posters trying to sell/scalp tix to either App or Wake fans. If you want to sell your tickets, have at it...but remember there are a LOT of App fans trying to round up tickets. Putting WF fans in your extra seats only helps YOU...not the team.

I'm friends with a bunch of Wake grads and the only one that knew they were playing us this year was a former football player who lost to us twice.

i agree. Some of them were using some colorful language for a religious affiliated school.

I could be wrong but I don't think Wake is really affiliated with the Baptists any more. Not for a while.

That is probably true. I work for their hospital with Baptist in the name. Yet we don't get off for Good Friday anymore.

Wake still has "ties" to the Baptist church but not Southern Baptist. They are Cooperative Baptist Fellowship now instead of Southern. They have opened a first rate Divinity School. Ive been a Baptist minister since I left App and have some colleagues who are Weak Forest grads. I was a Senior the first time we played them and saw Davis' FG go through that beat them. So Im ready to talk a little smack to the Deac Heads!...

I think it says Wake fan on my birth certificate, so i still rocked a Wake hat every day and kept my WF license plate on the front of my car. I cut out of several App games early to catch the Deacs on tv. I was there during the glory days for both schools and grew pretty tired of the "If App was in the ACC we could probably win it" crap. I hope Wake hangs 60 on them and I can wish them well in the sun belt."
