" I love Scott and support him 150%, but until the team he is coaching can win some of these tougher games, I don't know if he is going to get a call up to a bigger P5 school. We play one or two P5 games a year, yet we don't win any of them. Since joining the Belt, we have lost in all P5 games (Michigan, Clemson, Tennessee, Miami, Georgia, and now WF). We have to win one or two of these games for him to be considered for a bigger job, so that's a double edged sword for us and for him."

Love Satt too, but, as you stated he's going nowhere until he can start winning some of the "big games", to date nadaa.

I get what your saying but go back and look at the XP try. The ball was on the right trajectory. The defender was into the line and closed the distance to gain height. Critcher appeared to injure himself in recovering the ball. Spier came in and held for the FG right before half and the new duo may not have been in synch. Again, we have a problem upfront at the point of attack. While I understand that Rubinho is the easy target to blame, but it isn't his responsibility to snap, block, or hold. Pulling him to collect his thoughts isn't the answer. The only advice that you can offer a kicker after a miss is too not over correct on the next kick.

7 points left off the board due to Special Teams blunders. That's the difference, that's it. We were the better team and it was evident after Wake's opening drive. Sun Belt better look out, because this team is going to be on a mission.
As history will have it, unfortunately, the better team won. No moral victories here!

And we may go 0-for the next 20. It doesn't dilute our success.

Yes, we have been successful with G5 competition, however, our record against P5 competition is pathetic.

He won two bowl games, what else do you expect? Some of the posters on here seem to want him to go somewhere else. Why?

2 kicks were blocked - sure the ball could have been higher but I do not put that on him - the shank FG at the end of the half had to be a problem with the hold because he hasn't shanked a kick like that in 2 years - as for pressure --- didn't he win the bowl game last year with a FG? - I think the announcers said he had made 15 of his last 17 and somebody wants to bench him??? - give me an f-ing break - some of you guys are turning into tarhole-type fans - Unbelievable !!!

Soooooo many discipline issues. Too many to even count. Discipline has been an issue in every single game so far this year. That is 100% all on coaching.

And no one try to say "this game isn't on Rubino" either. He left 7 points on the board tonight. He blew it. He's our kicker and I support him, but this is his third year here now. It's okay to blame games on him.
2nd year. Rubino is a Sophomore. Give him a break. Bitter loss shared by many.

Considering the P5 teams we've played since, not really. VT, Clemson, Michigan, Georgia, Tennessee, Miami, are perennial top 15 teams. If we were playing bottom half P5, teams that would be different.

I am not embarrassed at all. Yes we lost on some bad plays. Our 2 losses are against teams that will soon be 8-0. Wake may surprise some folks this year. Proud to be a Mountaineer!

Don't recall saying he should go elsewhere, just he can't seem to win any game again P5 competition.

So is the record of most of our G5 brethren.

Wouldn't losing more games pretty much be the definition of diluting our success?

Good game, should have won but a few mistakes and well, that's football. Goal is still the same, win the SBC outright and go to a bowl game.

App has proven in 4 seasons that they belong in FBS and can compete with other G5 schools and mid to lower level P5 programs....and that my friends is the ceiling for the foreseeable future, so enjoy it. Can all the stars line up one season and App ends up in an NY6 game, sure but it can also turn bad very quickly (see GSU).

3rd place SBC, then 2nd place SBC and a bowl win, then co-champs in SBC and another bowl win, now picked to win the conference again this season. If they can maintain that type of success and continue to beat other G5's on a regular basis then the program should be considered successful. The success of the program should not be measured on how they do vs P5 programs.

Assuming that losing those 20 games come over a 15 to 20 year span, I would say no.

It wasn't all Rubino especially on the last kick, the snaps were atrocious. Both on the first one where WF was offside, and the final kick. Both snaps were not anywhere close to where they should be.
