Since I wrote that, FIU has now gained like 20 points and it is a 2 point game, lol. Maybe I spoke too soon.

We'd all like it, but Charlotte already has a 2018 FCS game and full schedules for a few years, so it would take some logistical gymnastics and as much as we don't like UNCC, it would deprive an in-state match-up of two public schools and take that gate away from them.
Wake hosts ND the day of our game with G-W. Much more scheduling gymnastics would be needed to pull that one off.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2017 4:59 amWe'd all like it, but Charlotte already has a 2018 FCS game and full schedules for a few years, so it would take some logistical gymnastics and as much as we don't like UNCC, it would deprive an in-state match-up of two public schools and take that gate away from them.
If a Wake rematch is going to happen in 2018, I think the more likely scenario would be buying out Gardner-Webb on Sept. 22 and hosting the Deacs, since App would need a sixth home game and Wake already has six home games, including what should be a big home sellout versus Notre Dame and having the game either Sept. 29 or later in the season.
Wake will probably just schedule an FCS since they don't have one.
I am not sure how good we are this season. So far this year we are the only FBS team that has struggled with the Bobcats, and we lost a game to Wake we should have won. We need to step it up a notch tout de suite, or predicting a drop off for next year might end up being replaced with realistic hopes we will improve upon a disappointing 2017 season.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2017 8:11 amIf we're honest with ourselves, there's a decent shot we'll drop off a notch next year, especially early. Might not be the best year to take another shot at an in-state P5 anyway, especially since our schedule is already finalized.
Fair point. I think we'll go on to a good season this year. But either way, lots of uncertainty replacing Lamb, Gossett, Nunn, and five of our defensive front seven.CVAPP wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2017 10:49 amI am not sure how good we are this season. Yeah, if there's one thing this board needs, it's more bitching about App's shortcomings. That will get the team to block better and stop committing penalties for sure.
