Track alternatives
In light of the new property purchase wonder what would be cheaper. Upgrade the WHS track and maybe build a soccer facility and then simply cover the existing track around the field. Or remove the track and still renovate the WHS facility? I know this was on another thread and some local guys provided photos that look rough. It was also mentioned that you can't put a college soccer field inside the track even though others provided photos that suggest otherwise

Re: Track alternatives
Existing facility wise there is nothing. Whatever will be done up there will be done from scratch

Re: Track alternatives
I think they still have the baseball field, softball field, tennis courts and the old stadium still there. There's also a large flat area adjacent to the stadium that they could probably build a new soccer field (however I'm assuming that's probably where the aquatic center would go) But they would all have to be bulldozed and rebuilt. At least they wouldn't have to do a lot of land moving and dynamiting.

Re: Track alternatives
Considering the dynamiting that was needed for the scoreboard figured there would be quite a bit to remove the track. That and land dozing can't be cheaphotrod2001 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 6:54 pmI think they still have the baseball field, softball field, tennis courts and the old stadium still there. I was talking about the Watauga property, which if I recall is already sitting on a mountain top that's leveled off.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 7:28 pmConsidering the dynamiting that was needed for the scoreboard figured there would be quite a bit to remove the track. Re: Track alternatives
Was agreeing with you. Sorry for the confusion. Using that level property reduces leveling and dynamitinghotrod2001 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 11:54 pmI was talking about the Watauga property, which if I recall is already sitting on a mountain top that's leveled off.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 7:28 pmConsidering the dynamiting that was needed for the scoreboard figured there would be quite a bit to remove the track.
