In light of the new property purchase wonder what would be cheaper. Upgrade the WHS track and maybe build a soccer facility and then simply cover the existing track around the field. Or remove the track and still renovate the WHS facility? I know this was on another thread and some local guys provided photos that look rough. It was also mentioned that you can't put a college soccer field inside the track even though others provided photos that suggest otherwise

There is nothing up there worth renovating and we don't have a soccer facility. It's rented from the local soccer association

Yes and isn't there a bunch of flat ground up there?

Existing facility wise there is nothing. Whatever will be done up there will be done from scratch

I think they still have the baseball field, softball field, tennis courts and the old stadium still there. There's also a large flat area adjacent to the stadium that they could probably build a new soccer field (however I'm assuming that's probably where the aquatic center would go) But they would all have to be bulldozed and rebuilt. At least they wouldn't have to do a lot of land moving and dynamiting.

Considering the dynamiting that was needed for the scoreboard figured there would be quite a bit to remove the track. That and land dozing can't be cheap

I was talking about the Watauga property, which if I recall is already sitting on a mountain top that's leveled off.

Was agreeing with you. Sorry for the confusion. Using that level property reduces leveling and dynamiting
