Homecoming crowd always leaves early. That is standard.
Ah 6 Homecoming Games each year.

Sports "fans" leave early all the time in every sport out there. It doesn't make sense to me either.

The last 12 quarters of App State Football have given me so much anxiety.

Well the students stayed and the crowd that stayed was loud! Kudos to all who stayed. And I gotta move my seats in 205 cause the guy sitting next to me is the most negative unhappy ( I CANT CALL HIM A FAN) attendeeIve ever been around. 3rd year of his mess is enough.

That was just horrible. lets forget all this beat P5 stuff until we can do a little better in the Sunbelt. If this season so far has not taught us a little humility I don't know what will.

Maybe the football team came out flat because they saw that 50% of our fan base are a bunch of bandwagoners who only show up when we play P5s. 22k for homecoming. Sad!

Sure we came out flat but this NMSU team is not a cupcake. They were big, fast and good. We gutted out a win. For the people who left you missed a helluva game.

Must be something about 205. We sit in that section too and there are people around us that glare at you if you yell or talk or do anything I feel like.

It was ridiculous to see all those people leaving when they did. They certainly missed a crazy quarter of football. I get it if you have some reason you really so need to leave, but why go through all that trouble of getting up there just to stay for an hour?

Fans who stayed to the end were awesome. Noise level was incredible for how few stayed. I understand some leaving when we have a big lead and go vanilla on offense but why leave in a close exciting game. For the record I have never left early in last 15 years. We only get 6 home games a year and i intend on soaking up all of it. Actually heard someone say they were leaving at halftime while walking up stadium drive before game. Why are you even here.

What row are you on? I have seats in 205 behind a negative Ned myself.

I'm in 205 also, but up near the top. The folks up there are pretty good. None of them left and everyone was into the game.

There is something about 205 that has really changed the last few years. I agree that the amount of hand sitters and unaware "attendees" has grown big time. Where do people think noise and atmosphere comes from? Stand up and make it people! sheesh

Our guys kept their poise and never seemed to panic, unlike a lot of our fans. We are getting everybody's best shot. In two conference games, we have played very physical and fast teams. The FUNBELT is living up to it's moniker!!! Section 203 was rocking and LOUD!!!

Three main things I took away from yesterday.

1. Whenever we play a Wake or a Miami in Boone the homecoming crowd suffers. I believe last year's homecoming crowd was light too. Unfortunately this is a problem across the majority of G5 football.

2. While Taylor did struggle, I blame his struggles more on play calling than anything else. We didn't attempt a pass over 10 yards in the air until the 4th quarter. Once we did it opened up the whole offense.

3. Post onside kick was the loudest the stadium has been in a long time minus Wake and Miami. Even though we didn't get the ball, it jolted everybody, including the players. I watched the replay and never saw a fair catch signal.

22-4 since joining the Sunbelt. Not too shabby.

Section 111 is still the best section in the stadium.

But I will say there seems to be more "fans" that look and sound like Tarheel fans than I have ever seen before. They sit and are quiet most of the game.

Thank God most of the 111 stand and yell

There were things to be frustrated with about this game, but if you were expecting NMSU to roll over, you didn’t do your homework. I said before that they were probably the remaining team I was most nervous about. They’re a very solid team. And I’m glad we opened up the playbook and had to work for it! What a ride!

While we’re at it, let me just say that Idaho has a good qb who might give us fits next week.

First year in 205, good fans all around me, folks next to me left real early, but had a good reason.

The top of 205. Some of the best seats at The Rock!
