Sun Belt Commissioner: We'll start looking for new members on Monday or Tuesday

Karl Benson, the commissioner of the Sun Belt Conference, told the Las Cruces Sun News that the league won’t discuss expansion plans until Monday at the earliest.
The Sun Belt is expected to add teams after dwindling to eight football-playing members on Thursday whenMiddleTennesseeStateand Florida Atlantic announced that they were moving to ConferenceUSA.
Appalachian State is among programs considered to be a candidate for a possible invitation to join the Sun Belt.
“Come Monday, when the dust settles, we’ll tackle the issue,” Benson told the Sun News.
“We haven’t started the process of evaluating (possible) new members.”
