Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
The only thing in this thread that maddens me was the people ragging Rubino for the blocked PAT. The right side of the line didn't even move on the snap and it was an easy block.
There's no way Lamb is healthy. His throws are terrible, but Satt adjusted the gameplan to throw bubble screens like how Richt and Miami did to him last year and it worked. I'm iffy on Lamb, but he's a winner.
Idaho is the best defense App will see the rest of the season. Next four opponents can score points but have porous defenses. Should see the RBs get some good touches in the next month.

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
Positives. 1st game I can remember ever, without having a penalty. Taylor Lamb overcame his 1st half inaccuracies to throw 3 second half td passes to tie AE for most career ever. We can once again first in long while, recover a fumble on defense. Ike Lewis is a baller & seemingly from post game interview dedicated student athlete. Need to get him the ball more often. This team, though, playing uninspired at times, always seems to find another gear, never giving up, thus continually proving themselves as winners. As for the negatives, I have a list to, but let's just enjoy the evening and savor in yet another comeback win. GO MOUNTAINEERS!

The kick was still low

As an aside, according to the small ESPN write up we won a Big Sky conference game. Say what?

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
I agree with most of this. I don't know about them being best defense we will face the rest of the year. Our offense seems to make everyone's defense look good. Our offensive line play has seemed to plateau, if not regressed. We aren't opening holes like we did last year which is concerning given that we have four guys back that started last year.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2017 8:13 pmThe only thing in this thread that maddens me was the people ragging Rubino for the blocked PAT. And he a 1/2 step slow. He should be quicker to the ball. And the line didn't block....just like Corey Lynch did.

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
Coastal gave up 52 points to Western Illinois, 51 to ULM and currently has given up 41 to stAte.
ULM gave up 47 to Georgia State today and 43 to Coastal.
UMass is 0-6 and gave up 58 to Ohio last week.
Georgia Southern is 0-5 and let a questionable stAte offense score 43.
GSU might be decent as Elliot looks to have turned them around and Louisiana has clamped down, but right now, Idaho is the best defense in the Sun Belt.

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
We all need to lay off of Rubino. All he needs to do is focus on kicking with balance. If he is out of balance when he strikes the ball, the kick tends to goes low and left or it is pushed up and right... He did fine tonight. Look at the third extra point. He was in good balance. The first extra point was not perfect balance (push) but it went through and the second extra point was not his fault. The blockers on the right side just set up a little too far apart. I’m not a coach, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

Rubino needs to look at the tape of his 3rd extra point and his field goal. Power and height. That is the ticket.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2017 9:03 pmWe all need to lay off of Rubino. Did you read past the sentence you quoted? I said the\at our offense makes every defense look good. I was being facetious.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2017 9:03 pmCoastal gave up 52 points to Western Illinois, 51 to ULM and currently has given up 41 to stAte.

Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
He can be as fundamentally sound as Stephen Gostkowski, unless the line can block the rushers, it won't make a difference.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2017 9:03 pmWe all need to lay off of Rubino. Re: Letting Loose in the Palouse Thread
I had a great time at the game today. The crowd was bigger than two years ago and was pretty lively on 3rd downs. The band was fun. The stadium announcer had a great delivery. It is a unique environment for a game, to be sure.
Moscow and Pullman are 7 miles apart. Pullman reminds me of Boone but larger with 30k. Idaho has a very attractive campus with interesting architecture all around. The kibbie dome is a neat venue. My kiddo got to give all the players high five after the tough win. Yosef became his best friend.
I've had a great time twice and I'll miss not coming back in 2 years. It's really beautiful.
I'm proud of the players, and proud of all the app fans I saw!
