Curious which coach got the unsportsmanlike penalty. I along with the crowd saw the refs missed call but on of the coaches evidently went temp bonkers. I saw Woody in the middle of the area. Could it be him. Wondering what was said/done?

I think it was the officials that fired up the crowd more than anything else at that juncture.

Didn't look like much for the penalty.

I thought when we made the move to FBS/Sun Belt we would notice an improvement in the quality of officiating crews over the Southern Conf. Yesterday's crew was borderline incompetent.

I think Holt got it because the official was engaged with Sat at that point. OnceSat had the officials attention, Holt should have backed off. But to be honest, they had a beef with the play and were rightfully upset.

Always hate those penalties and the bush league ref that calls them. Misses a terrible call and knows it, when the coaches howl -flag. if ref thinks he gets the call right, he just explains. Happens in all sport, especially basketball where basically all Techs. are from blown calls.

Penalties are our specialty.

This group made me think of the Geico commerical with the "ref" overexplaining. I think Satt sends in a weekly report on the game officials. I'd love to be a bird on the wall as he writes it.

I would love to find the loss of down penalty/kick/play/reset 3rd down video and audio... that was hilarious! I wonder if the crew got fined for their incompetence?

That's a call you expect to see at a JV H.S. game on a Monday night, not an FBS game on a Saturday afternoon.

Depends on what he said.

Sometimes I don't mind getting a 15 yard penalty when it needs to be said. I feel like, at least in our group, we have said every week that it couldn't get much worse. I didn't realize we were issuing the officials a challenge. I got nothing for that crazy mess we saw Saturday other than I hope they got called to the principals office.
