Reasons

If the reasons for JM's "forced" retirement are the things that happened last Fall, I tend to agree with it. If it's two 8 win seasons, then I don't accept that. If it's the move to FBS (which hasn't happened yet and I have never heard JM speak out against it) then I disagree. It would have looked better and been more acceptable to just wait until we accepted an invite and to bring in a replacement. I think most would accept that and the PTB should give that reason to the media. We can't say for sure that this is just prior to the move at present as we don't have an invite yet and were dissed by the CUSA.
If we waited, I can see having JM to retire whether or not it was his choice. Regardless, a reason should have been given.

To your knowledge we dont have an fbs invite. For all we know there might be one sitting on Cobb or Peacocks desks.

And we'll probably have to wait until GSoU is done with the playoffs or wins in the semis before we hear about it.

Then like I say, wait until we have one and give that as a reason. I would think that if we had one, we would have been told, if not, we should have. If we just think we might, then this thing was wrong IMOp.

As if I needed any more incentive to root against GSU. I might buy that game just so I can personally watch them lose.

Why? What does GSU have to do with us? Our decision should be independent of any choice GSU has to make it would seem.

It's likely a joint invitation with them, if an invitation exists.

Could be. I thought of that, but I question whether a conference would want to bring up two move ups from FCS at one time. It seems CUSA said they didn't want any FCS move-ups, but then again, that's CUSA. After all they did pull one in who didn't even have a football program and the SunBelt may have different values.

Two FCS move-ups with a great winning tradition is much better than FCS move ups that have only played a couple years (Georgia State, ODU) or not at all (Charlotte). I don't think it's out of the question at all for it to be a joint invite as we are two of the top FCS programs that have publicly said we are wanting to move up.

I agree, but it seems that it was said about move-ups last summer.

Source or claim of connection?
I've been through this too many times to put a lot of stock into a message board comment like this. I still have blue balls from May.

Hard to see any credibility in this since Arkansas Little Rock doesn't field a football team...

Never said they did. They will be in the league however. Also have no credible source. Not trying to report something big here. This is the 2 divisions currently. The football championship game could not be played without a 12th football member however the league would want to go to that for the extra revenue.
Again folks, I said this would be the league and they would WANT to play a title game. Obviously without 12 football members you cannot.

Well in order to have a championship game, I believe (and I could be wrong) you have to have 12 football playing schools.
So are you saying UALR is going to start football back up?

Neither does UT Arlington.

Actually, you said "The New Sun Belt will be this and will play a SunBelt Championship game. Should be announced soon."
So, no credibility to this post at all....

UT-A doesn't have football either, although there is an effort to revive the program.
