A More Positive Spin on Satt’s Remaining Time At App

Came across this article. While I’d rather not see him on any of these top 5 coaching hype lists this is about as positive spin from an App POV as you can get. I think a good enough opportunity will end up coming along, not positive it will be this off season though.

Spelled Appalachian wrong, but a good article.

Obviously I would never say never, but I think it would take a compelling offer for coach Satt to bail out on App. He's stated that he loves Boone, he's an alum/former player, and has relatively young kids in school. Could I see him leaving for more prestigious P5 pastures? Sure. Do I think it's a foregone conclusion like some on this forum? No. App doesn't (yet) have the reputation of being a coaching mill like some of the other upper G5 schools, and we're in the very fortunate position of having a successful coach with a rich history of involvement at Appalachian.

Those SEC schools are wasting their time. Don't they know UNC Charlotte has their eye on Satt?

After the last three weeks he will be around at least another year.

Once again, Satt is going nowhere, case closed!

I’m excited about that. If we expect Satt to be loyal long term we’re going to need to be patient with him at times.

These days make success even sweeter.

Ok guys, what AD’s look for in a new coach is not the latest loss. They look at his pattern over time. A big win over a higher level team can help.... a loss to same level doesn’t hurt. SS’s pattern is well established.

Agreed, they look at an established pattern. At the next level (P5), if that's what you want to call it, competition for coaching positions is extremely keen. Please don't read into my comment something that's not there. Let me state for the record, I'm glad to have Satt and overall please with his results. In my humble opinion, he's just not quite ready for "prime time", he will get there eventually. However, just not yet. :)

I agree that his day will likely come, but I believe there are several at our level that are more highly regarded at this point. It also depends on the location of an opening as well. I would also think one drawback is his relative inexperience outside of Boone and G5 football.
