TIGMA Award -- Bowl Eligible, and stink has to watch

Marcus Williams: 130 yds. 28 carries.
Ike Lewis: Big TD catch to put the game away.

Buuuut, I'm going with redshirt freshman Chandler Staton: 3-3 XP, 2-2 FG. Oh, and one of those field goals - 53 yards at the half (leaving me to ask "what if...")

Can’t argue with either one. No way Rubino gets close on that FG. Nice not holding breath on XP’s as well. Williams is going to be special

Also a good crowd and loud when we needed to be!!! But my vote goes to Marcus Williams, Jr. Glad to see Harrington get his first career TD!!! Ike Lewis is a game changer and a great kid!!!

Defense too. Later in the game the front seven just got stronger.

I will vote for T. Lamb for his outstanding leadership.
Good QB night = 2 TD passes, 7/13 passing for 161 yeards, No INTs, 62 yards rushing.
Great run just before half time that changed momentum too.

You FANS who were there - Stadium looked great - all week I have scanned the games played in MAC stadiums and I'm not sure their combined attendances would have topped one Thu night game in Boone - and as mentioned this coming off 2 sub-par performances ---

That 53 yarder was huge, watching the energy of the team as they left at half, and the d. Looked like it might be a long night after that 7 minute drive, but they didn’t break and only gave up 3. After that, they crushed it. I was concerned about the attendance when I got to my seat, but they just kept coming, thought the crowd was big all things considered.

Lots of positives tonight but my vote goes to the defense as a group. After the first drive they basically gave the Stink nothing!
Great game Apps!

Staton gets my vote today. Dude has been money since taking over. All I ask in a college kicker is make everything under 40 yards. The rest is a bonus.

Honorable mention: Crowd. Great group and loud when needed.

Agree. I was one guy who was criticizing our tackling but man it was shut down after that first drive.

The defense (I left them out on purpose to generate discussion) should also get a mention for holding firm after the decision to go for it on fourth down wasn't successful. That series changed the tone of the game. I was a little ticked at the moment, but it showed Satt had a confidence in them to do what they did.

In addition to ones noted above I'll throw in a vote for the students who came and (mostly) stayed. They made a difference.

Can we get to the point where we celebrate Staton without denigrating Rubino? I think everyone is glad to see the consistency in our FG/PAT game and Staton has indeed been solid, even spectacular but his kudos don't have to come at Rubino's expense.

That FG looked like it would have been good from 57. The sound of the ball coming off his foot was impressive.

We were in the endzone, and it likely could have made 5 more yards in my somewhat altered mind.

I know that they use different footballs for kicking, but given the temps, that ball had to be a bit harder than usual. Either way, it sounded good coming off the foot.

So while I love my view from section 111, when I get to go The Rock; I watched the game again this morning and my TIGMA vote goes to Marcus Williams. He has really matured as a runner as the season as progressed. He is one tough runner.
