What impact has GA St had on their program? GA St has funds due to their high usage of student fees with over 30,000 students. GS was not financial sound when they moved up.

Great points ABut the leadership we lose after this year, I’m especially concerned about both lines next year.

Next year may well be a start over year.

Just. Beat. UNC-Charlotte.

Edit: Everyone else, too, but especially UNC----Charlotte.

OL will have 3 starters back and 2 more kids with game experience (but will definitely be a ?); WR will have everyone back but Ike Lewis (our true deep threat) and Dante Jones, hopefully we can add Evans back to that group; RB will have everyone back but Upshaw, all of our FR have looked promising; TE will have Reed & Papenheim, hoping both verbals are as good as their press clippings; QB will be another question mark, not due to talent but limited to no game experience.

I have absolutely no idea on earth why we refuse to give a backup QB any playing time. We had an opportunity again Thursday night. I guess we will walk into Penn state with a QB with anywhere from 0 to 10 min of playing time.

While I agree with your point about bringing in a backup, what experience would be gained from handing the ball off play after play?

Don’t forget about Sutton, the transfer from K-State.

We started 5 Freshmen and a Sophomore on Offense this week,as we have most of the season. We will have some ups and downs next year with a new signal caller, but I don’t think it will be a do over.

This was the first game since Savannah State that we put away before essentially the final possession, and in this one we had exactly one possession where we had the ball and the game was in hand. Not sure when people are expecting to see those backups.

As for GS, they'll be back. Just a matter of when.

Well that brings up the next point I don't understand. Why the hell do we do that? Thursday night we could have brought him in with 6 min on the clock and a healthy lead and let him THROW THE BALL!

I also think we missed an opportunity to get another QB some snaps Thursday night. I was actually shocked to see #11 on the field at the 6:50 mark for what turned out to be our final possession. I am no coach, but obviously our coaches did not think a 21 point lead was enough against that potent stink offense that had already put 6 points on us through 3.5+ quarters of play.

When we lose to Penn State next year, at least I'll know I can blame it on our coaches not getting the backup one garbage-time series against Georgia Southern 10 months earlier.

Fair enough, but why not get a backup those snaps?

Such valuable experience isn't it. Maybe coach wanted Taylor to enjoy his last series against GS. He certainly has earned it.

No actually the reason for the loss will be that we put them on the schedule. I say Penn State because it is the first game. It would apply to any first opponent. It only makes it worse that some poor kid will be thrown to the wolves for absolutely no reason. That 6 minutes did not have to be garbage time. He could have been allowed to run an offense with 6 min on the clock.

I know it’s not a great comparison but we knocked out the Georgia starter early in the first quarter and a true freshman came in with no prior game experience. They are in the top 2.

Just so y'all know, there probably isn't a coach in the country who'd pull his starter for a freshman QB he doesn't trust with a 21-point lead and 6 minutes left - let alone have him throw the ball all over the place.

Hell, Ohio State had JT Barrett still in the game in the fourth quarter up 48-3 today.

We reloaded after Elder, Williams, Edwards and Presley. And I'm confident we'll reload after Lamb.

And that six minutes would have made a difference how?
