As the Cure bowl picks 4th, it's hard to imagine a scenario in which NOLA or the two AL bowls pick GA St. over App/Ark St/Troy.

The bowls are likely avoiding App to Montgomery and an App vs. Toledo rematch.

App wins/Troy wins/Toledo wins - App to Mobile
App wins/Troy wins/Toledo loses - App to NOLA - Troy vs. Toledo in DG
App wins/Ark wins - App to NOLA

Now if we lose to ULL, that opens up the Cure option as ULL goes to NOLA, Troy to DG, Ark St. to Cam, and Cure picks us over GA St.

If we win I'd say 75% we're going to NOLA.

I appreciate your optimism but I don't know that we are better than Plan C for NOLA behind Arky St and Troy. One of them should get picked by NOLA. If the DG picks Toledo then I don't think that they will pick us to rematch last year which means that the loser of the NOLA bid goes to DG. That leaves Montgomery and Orlando. Ga St is closer to Montgomery but the fact that it would be our third straight year makes them easier to digest as ticket sales would drop from us. That leaves Orlando unless ESPN can do some horse trading to get us a better matchup.

Just curious, why does everyone seem convinced Toledo is going to Mobile? Not saying they aren't, just wondering.

Mobile has first pick of MAC teams, and agreed to let Montgomery have Toledo last year. The prevailing thought is that Mobile will not give up that pick again. Toledo fans believe ESPN can negotiate something better for them.

Gotcha.

I think those Toledo fans are kidding themselves then (just as some of ours have when they've said similar things in recent years). ESPN isn't going to spend resources getting a two-loss MAC team out of their primary tie-in.

It may not mean much but the StAte fans seem to think they will wind up in Montgomery.

Seems to be some thought around our athletic dept. that thinks we are Nola bound with a win Saturday. Should clear up before we play. The sunbelt will probably communicate some of the pecking order during the week.

I’m hearing the same thing. Should be an awesome experience for the players.
