Future schedules
I didn't see this anywhere on here, but NC State's Scout page has a 3 page thread on a rumor that they are scheduling us and possibly coming to Boone. Anyone else hear that? Also, don't go to that thread, a lot of arrogance and ignorance.

Re: Future schedules
First I've heard of it, but it would make sense. FWIW, they're full through 2020 and also in 2022 (we're full in 2021), but they do have one FCS game in each of those years.

Re: Future schedules
Could not help but breeze through the comments. Two or three morons that think we play in a tiny stadium with only a Hardee's in town. Few State fans going to bat for us. Typical stuff.
I know this is all rumor, but interesting timing with the big gift last week. Wonder if we have a few H/H on the hook waiting for a KBS expansion?

Re: Future schedules
It's funny that their fans are complaining about our stadium, but we all know we would have at least 35,000 in the stadium if it happens.
Just looking at the past 3 seasons, they have played in front of less than 35,000 on 6 occasions with a 7th time coming up at Wake this week. So stadium/crowd size is nothing but a cover for their snobbery.

When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Re: Future schedules
It's the minority over there. Most State fans I know have a lot of respect for our program, and they definitely do not come across as snobby.JTApps1 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2017 1:41 pmIt's funny that their fans are complaining about our stadium, but we all know we would have at least 35,000 in the stadium if it happens.

Those cow tippers still looking for a laptop on the sideline. They are about like Ark St fans...a little smarter but not that much.

Re: Future schedules
Aren't UNC and ECU both coming to Boone in the near future? And Wake just made the trip. If true, NC State is late to the table. To be fair, what do any of them have to gain for coming to Boone? Low travel costs?

Re: Future schedules
Worst experience as a visiting fan ever was at State in '06 (granted I never went to Ga. Southern). The fans with whom I interact on a somewhat usual basis have a lot of respect for our program and have always said it would be fun to play us again. There will always be some members who think it is beneath them to play anyone outside of a P5 conference, especially if that means traveling to a G5 stadium regardless of the seating capacity.

Re: Future schedules
I hope this happens as I have several friends and in-laws who are NCSU grads!
They definitely have some morons posting on their board. I especially love the excuse of how playing ODU, who has a smaller stadium than App, is fine because it helps them recruit the Hampton Roads area. Apparently Pack fans don't even know their own roster. They have a total of 4 players from VA and only 1 comes from just south of Norfolk. Playing 2 games against the Monarchs netted them a whopping 1 player. That's a great reason not to play a football game. I noticed not one of them brought up how they plucked a coach from App's inferior program.
Whether it gets scheduled or not, I hope our program never resorts to getting the state legislature involved. I'd rather schedule another program, who has won a conference title within the past 30 years, that wants to play a football game.

I mean, they do literally have cows grazing on their grounds a mile from the stadium.

They also have recently played, or will in the next few years play, at Marshall, Troy and UConn. Not to mention the ongoing series with ECU.moonshine wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2017 2:59 pmI hope this happens as I have several friends and in-laws who are NCSU grads!

I think it's just going to take some of the slower fans of other teams a while to appreciate that we aren't FCS anymore. And that we're the best G5 in North Carolina now.

Re: Future schedules
Yeah I know, but it was stupid in middle school and it's stupid now. I guess I've been in NC too long. EZU, Wine and Cheese, Moo U, Crap State etc. They all have been overplayed. I just kind of snarl when I hear adults use them.

Re: Future schedules
A couple of thoughts...
1) If true, this will be great for both schools!
2) Travel costs are paramount for every school and every sport; no school is immune.
3) You can always tell when a topic has some legs, because Moose goes quiet.
4) State fans are some of the most out of touch fans in America. And definitely the Southeast. They make ECU fans look logical and well informed.
