I've never been more frightened than when I stayed there 10 years ago. I think the special then was a price per bed. They did have some solid meth deals around back, though.NO.2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:01 amThey recently got rid of the "2 People 1 Bed $29.99"NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 8:40 amI'm going to reserve him a room at the Boone Trail Motel
Truly a terrible loss for the High Country.

Re: Hudspeth hates coming to Boone
It might not bring enough revenue but a full service Marriott at the old hospital property across from Lees-McRae would be nice or a Hilton Garden Inn on some of the land that to my knowledge is still clear near the ABC store in Boone. Hilton Garden Inn properties are full service, Courtyard Marriott to an extent is....but not as much as a full service Marriott or Hilton Garden Inn.

The WSJ had this follow up to the reaction by App fans of Hudspeth's traveling to Boone comments: Love this satirical twitter post by Thomas K, quoted in the article:
"The Cajuns headed out for Boone at sunrise for the footballing contest on Saturday. 119 men and women in 65 covered wagons crossed the ole Mississippi around noon hour, now going through ye barren plains of the gulf south. One has come down with yellow fever, but is on the mend. pic.twitter.com/U5upLQz5qd

If they think the journey to The Rock is tough...they're due for an unhappy experience once they get there.

Re: Hudspeth hates coming to Boone
Banner Elk is a stupid location for any visiting team to stay. I get it from the Old SoCON days because many teams were bussing up from 221 direction, others were easy enough to come up game day like Chatt or Elon, etc. If it were me making the decision for a University it would be fly into Hickory, stay the night in a Hickory hotel and come up the Mountain on Sat Morning. When I go on business travel and arrive late, the last thing I want to do is get in a rental and drive for and hour +.

Re: Hudspeth hates coming to Boone
Theirs? Heck awmighty, dont pay us no mind. We are just a bunch of old farts who don't know nuthin bout no mountaineer football. I mean ... none of us have ever actually watched a game at KBS before today. And, we've surely never had to act or speak responsibly for a group. So, we don't really know whether complaining all the time about everything on the mountain might be a good idea or not.
So, go ahead and post on their BB. It don't mean nuthin.
On the other hand, should I be so lucky that Hudspeth actually reads this here post, lemme just say this: Perhaps it would be a better idea to do yer talkin on the field.
