Hudspeth hates coming to Boone
From the article and this isn't the first time he's complained about this:
Travel woes
Hudspeth said the difficulty of his team’s task Saturday isn’t limited to on the field.
“There’s not an easy way to even get to AppState,” he said. “It’s not only the flight, but you’ve got a pretty tough bus ride, you have to stay about an hour from campus. That makes it a pretty challenging trip.”
Weather could also be a factor. Temperatures will hit the freezing mark Friday night, and there is a chance of snow flurries overnight before Saturday’s game.

Bless his heart. Temperatures may hit the "freezing mark" - oooooooooooooooooooooh! We may have to wear sweatshirts.

Some teams stay that far away for home games. I'm pretty sure Auburn stays in Montgomery before their home games.

Don't they stay at BW in Banner Elk? Or have I heard that some of our visiting teams stay in Hickory?

It doesn't matter if they stayed in the stadium. We've beaten them a combined 87-23 the past 3 years. We ended their reign in 2014 and we are going to get him fired this weekend.

How hard is a one hour bus ride exactly? Are they sitting by plywood, pushing the bus, or what?

The late season weather will always be an advantage we have over pretty much the rest of the conference. I like seeing a schedule more backloaded with conference home games in future years if possible.

Re: Hudspeth hates coming to Boone
Is money the reason they wouldn't consider somewhere like Chetola, or maybe even Essceola? I know we've got bigger wants/needs as a program, but it would be cool for Boone to get a full service hotel... not solely for visiting athletic programs, obviously. I think the area needs one in general.T-Dog wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 2:04 pmEveryone except for NMSU stayed in Banner Elk. Best Western is a full-service hotel that fits the needs of a football team. Has their own catering company plus meeting rooms. Chetola is mostly condos and only had a limited number of hotel rooms. Same thing with Esseola.booneboy92 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 2:27 pmIs money the reason they wouldn't consider somewhere like Chetola, or maybe even Essceola? Re: Hudspeth hates coming to Boone
Having worked two seasons at Eseeola while in school I can tell there is far from enough rooms needed. Also, they close in October.booneboy92 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 2:27 pmIs money the reason they wouldn't consider somewhere like Chetola, or maybe even Essceola? It will be even tougher on him getting back if their athletic department only gave him a one way ticket.

Re: Hudspeth hates coming to Boone
Gotcha... I didn't realize BW was equipped for providing that much. In that case... Hire a new bus driver!!! Lol! But I still think Boone could use that kind of accomodations.T-Dog wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 2:32 pmBest Western is a full-service hotel that fits the needs of a football team.
