Statement Win
Does anyone else get the feeling that was a statement win. Why else would we run it up on La like we did? More pts than we put up on a bad FCS team. I hear all the talk about pre- sale but I wonder if we were saying we are the true champs, we deserve NO.

Re: Statement Win
I think it was a senior day and SS wanted to send them out the right way. This is the first game all season where I think we finally played up to our capabilities. Perhaps we are finally healthy enough or perhaps the young guys have finally grown up, but either way this is how I expected us to play all season. To think that the team we watched today is the same team that lost to Monroe and UMass is unbelievable.

Re: Statement Win
Yessss!! Could be that too. This has been an exciting season to say the least. But this was the most fun I have seen these guys have all season. The Fitch TD showed these guys truly are a team and what happens in practice; the guys that are there every day helping others get better and none of us know still matter at the end of the day. For me felt like the TD that Elder scored in 2007 against Delaware in the NC in terms of team excitement.

1000% with t4pizza. Today’s win was due to being healthy and the culmination of the maturation process of the young guys. The celebration on Fitch’s TD gave me goosebumps.

Re: Statement Win
I don’t know if it was their intent, but I’d imagine that this is the game a lot of us have been craving pretty much all season: A good old fashioned beat-down against a peer.
The close games have been exciting, but we let pretty much everyone hang around too long, made mental mistakes, and paid for it with a record that could have easily been much better or much worse.
Helps that Hudspeth is a bit of a turd, too.

Satt's comment when Molly asked how he would celebrate tonight shows sense of family top down, "I'm going to watch my son play guitar in talent show at high school".

Re: Statement Win
You can’t start taking knees with 11 minutes left. Don’t consider running it up when you go 4 deep at QB. If TL was in late in the 4th throwing it all over the field, that would be running it up. Not our fault they quit.

Re: Statement Win
Run up the damn score. I was hoping we would turn our backup qbs loose and let them actually get a little in game experience before they become the starting qb next year

I’d wish it was his last trip up the mountain, but his tenure in Lafayette is working out pretty well for us.

Re: Statement Win
i imagine Hudspeth took less time to get out of Boone than it took him to get here. Of course it is downhill all the way to the below sea level existence of ULL

Re: Statement Win
I don't really think there was any intent to run up the score. We went 4 deep at the QB position and were playing backups at RB and other positions as well. When you're playing the subs and keeping the ball on the ground, but the opponent still can't stop you, it's just what it is. UL folded and all attempts to "come back" by airing it out simply played into the hands of our D resulting in turnovers.
