Toeldo fans are the ones that need to be worried and concerned based on the performance I have seen out of our Mountaineers the last three weeks. The 12/23 date may not appeal to everyone but the positives of a solid opponent, Sat PM prime time and being on the mother ship ESPN........HUGE OPPORTUNITY...... I have a feeling our boys will turn some heads 12/23!

Does anyone have any information on RV parking? Location or contact information on how I could find out? Would love to stay close to the stadium like we did in Montgomery.

App package at $2,500 for a couple seems a little steep for a one night stay.

The Appalachian-sponsored packages are generally not affordable. I normally look at them and laugh.

I will be one of the few who will benefit from the 12/23 date instead of 12/16. Look forward to another road trip!

My wife and I are staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites- Downtown for $140/night. Close to restaurants/bars. Breakfast included but must pay for parking. Shuttle to stadium on gameday!!!

Looks like we'll have to win our 3rd bowl in a row in Mobile. Wish I could go!

I agree. They make absolutely no sense. I could spend, with a little effort, skill, and planning, a 4* star all-expenses-paid week in Manhattan for the price of a couple quick days in Mobile, AL...or any of the other markets where these travel companies market our packages. To each his own, but man, you gotta be one wealthy and/or time-starved individual to go this route. That having been said, I always hope they sell well, especially if the cut we receive is halfway decent.

Exactly I'm actually annoyed and disappointed in the plans. Yet they always are only affordable for about 5% of the fan base.

5% is excessive ;)

Toledo is a very good team. Hard for either team to complain too much as it's G5 Champ against G5 Champ. Last years game couldn't have been much closer.

I understand the Toledo fans wishing they could get a shot at a bigger-name team, but where did they think that would happen? The MAC has no tie-ins vs. P5 conferences. Did they seriously think ESPN was going to spend money to make special accommodations for a two-loss MAC team?

Hell, if they were doing that they’d have done it for Troy before Toledo.

All fan bases have those with dillusions of grandeur.

I'm there. This is the one bowl game where work is not an issue. Now, i just need to convince my wife to go since my tailgate group is not making this trip.

Saw ESPN picked Toledo 38-29. Maybe it's time for a few more firings over there :D . Toledo is a very good team, but hardly out of our league. I like Satt and Woody with almost 3 weeks to plan for anybody.
I had hoped for NOLA, as we'll be in Minnesota on the 23rd, but we'll be cheering on the APPS from the Great White North.

GO APP!!

In reality this bowl is probably the best we could hope for. It is played in bowl season instead of a week before people start paying attention. In reality travel should not conflict with work for most people and to top it off we get a conference champion. I think we get more exposure on this date as well. I get that families with young kids might have friction from grandparents though.

Who do we have that’s been injured who should or could be healed for this game? I know it doesn’t make a huge difference but what was Upshaw’s injury? Sorry can’t recall. Would have been great for him to get to play. Even just a carry.

With two future Mountaineer Boys (7 & 2) and a future Mountaineer Girl due in March, the two days before Christmas bowl game will always be one I likely have to miss, at least for awhile. Happy as hell however that it's on ESPN at 7 p.m. for many to see, including myself. For those that can make it, be loud as hell, and please don't act like Georgia Southern fans. No matter how you watch it live or on television, it should be a hell of a game.

Will we be the only college football game on that night? If so, that'll be great exposure assuming we play well which I expect we will since we'll have 3 weeks to continue healing up our wounded players.
Also, although I'm not going to be able to go due to the timing with family Christmas celebrations, I'm still going to buy tickets as if we are going to support the team.

Upshaw had a torn bicep or tricep and is out for good.
