Worthy of Ole Miss transfers?
With Ole Miss lifting the restrictions on players transferring as a result of the NCAA sanctions imposed, I am wondering if APP is worthy enough to pick up a player or two?

Sure we are. Have any expressed interest verses another P5? My guess is most will stay close by.

Question is...are they worthy of App State? Are they quality human beings who will fit our culture?

We could use an experienced right guard and tackle to provide some depth.

Strange perspective. Would any of these players be worthy of our program?

I definitely don't think there is any doubt that App is "worthy" but I don't know that we would be on their radar. It wouldn't be back to pick up a couple of quality OLs if they fit into our program. Maybe a LB/DB with all we have graduating.

Matt Luke was the OL coach at Ole Miss before he became Head Coach. I would imagine that those guys are the least likely to transfer.

Not necessarily. If they are buried on the depth chart at Ole Miss, they could see it as a way to a fresh start and some playing time.TheMackAttack wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2017 10:52 pmMatt Luke was the OL coach at Ole Miss before he became Head Coach. I'm more concerned about holding on to our recruits, and filling the gaps for the ones we have lost in the last few weeks .Hoping we can wrap up everyone on the 20th.

Re: Worthy of Ole Miss transfers?
I love the are they worthy of us argument, like Alan Atwater, Michael Porter, Sean Price worthy? Folks we aren't above other programs culture/rules wise, we have our bad apples just like every other tree. Now where we do differ is our kids actually attend real classes, so we are above Chapel Hill.
Appalachian State, Better than your school since 1899!!!!

Re: Worthy of Ole Miss transfers?
We've lost a nose tackle to UNC and our top RB recruit to Wake. In the later case, he wasn't even granted a scholarship, just hope of one in the Spring. The good news compared to season's past when such happens, with the early signing period we have time to find replacements.

I don't have Moose Lodge privileges for whatever reason .Anyway , we are down three or four, we usually lose a couple and have to replace them. Seems a bit worse this year.Tim Frizell is an example of one we picked up as a last minute replacement, from UTC I believe. I'm more than a little concerned with the loss of Scott Sloan to Southern due to his role in recruiting.

Re: Worthy of Ole Miss transfers?
we try to keep our recruiting comments in the Moose Lodge for obvious reasons....if you havent asked for admittance please do so. Other coaches, families and players do see this stuff.hapapp wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2017 1:22 pmWe've lost a nose tackle to UNC and our top RB recruit to Wake.
