The plaza behind the scoreboard is exactly what Wake has in their stadium and it’s nice. They even have a little beer garden back there. Our stadium is actually super similar to theirs. My only question with the plaza is, won’t the score board be smack dab in the middle of it?

Geez can we ever give the track discussion a rest?
No
The decision has been made to relocate the track. It will be taken care of soon enough.
What will everybody complain about now? The track has been at the top of the heap forever.

How do you increase the "plaza" area, move the hill closer to the field and decrease the slope?

Honestly, I had never heard a complaint about it until visiting this message board. Seems like a huge amount of insecurity surrounds most complaints; meaning whiney people with or without money want KBS to look more "big time." I want to get rid of it just for the temp bleacher endzone to become something. What I complain about most is GA seating. I won't look young enough to pass as a college kid for much longer.

Have no problem with wanting to remove the track as long as the most successful program in App State history get their own facility.

The people who froth at the mouth over the presence of the track are deranged IMO.

Were you driving back from blow rock with a buzz beforehand? It's ok to be open. This is a safe place- My name is Michael and I'm a trackaholic.

The direction D.G. is taking things there won't be much of anything to complain about. He gets shit done and I love it.

Ha, that was a doozy and I was one of the outraged on that one. Thankfully we held our ground and cups and ice won the day.

I talked to DG for 15 minutes a few months ago at an event in Charlotte. The track removal was most of what we talked about. He’s one of the only App people I’ve talked to whose scorn for the track matches my own. It’s a done deal pre-fall 2019.

All that said, I’ll still click thumbs up to anyone who bitches about the track.

I want to participate in its removal. I’ll sign a waiver and donate and extra $100 to the YC for 30 seconds with a jack hammer. I want to keep a piece to commemorate its destruction. It’s the Berlin Wall.
Yes! Can they please open it up to alumni to come help destroy the track? Phenomenal idea.

100% track is gone ladies and gents! That rendering sucks not really what its going to be. It won't be that much different than the original project. The original project had dorms included this has no dorms. It will be a CM @ risk job thats how GC will be selected. They will help design and price with architect CJMW who was architect on last one. Keys things to look for will be concourse!!!! Huge and biggest must in my opinion. I'll be at the pre bid for it coming up and will siphon info as I obtain it. This will be a good project. Shelco did the last facility upgrade. They did a fine job I'm sure they will be in the running and I would imagine Vannoy will be reaching for it since it is in their backyard.
Here's hoping the project gets awarded to Shelco, but I can live with it going to Vannoy. I have a preference for Shelco's "touch" but Vannoy will not disappoint us. Just get on with it already! :geek:

I deleted a couple of posts that referenced the selection of contractors. I'm not sure that is information that is available to the general public right now. I don't want us to be accused of giving out proprietary information.
