What are your thoughts looking ahead to Penn State game next year?
Will Saquon Barkley leave for draft?
I'm thinking this is gonna be a very tough game for us......more fearsome than heading to UGA this year.

Tough game, but obviously UGA was a real contender for the championship and I don't think Penn State will be. Or maybe you meant based on our talent also?

They're going to be really good, but they do lose a lot of key players.
Barkley should go pro. He'll get drafted Top 10, maybe top three if he's great at the combine.
Sometimes PSU starts a season chaotically and that could be to our advantage.
James Franklin is a really good coach. He bleeds PSU blue and made their national title contenders right after the sanctions ended.

I have been thinking about this since the Toledo beat down. I think the exiting seniors and leaders on our 2017 squad paved the way for next year by providing a here is how you punch someone in the face and beat them to a pulp.
You could tell these guys did thier homework on Toledo and did not let up the entire game. That was a perfect blueprint for here is how you do it from now on. Even with the graduation on a lot of key players they have left a talented but maube green in some spots a blueprint for the future of the program. That is what I am looking ahead to.

We should probably wait until the coaching carousel has stopped and see what we're going to be doing first, before looking to far ahead

I’ll be there, expecting us to play well. Nothing like playing on 1 September in another Big Ten stadium. Go Apps, #slayanothergiant.

Yeah speaking of our team, seems lot more vague looking ahead starting new year. The D coaching situation and new QB. The good thing is we have a lot of great new talent that showed promise....kicking game is fixed.

Honestly, our cupboard isn’t bare but this is a game that we need to look past the score with an eye towards the rest of the season. The indicators that will be telling for me are 1) how effective are we at running the ball to the right, 2) how are we adjusting to a new defensive philosophy, and 3) the mental toughness of whoever is under center. Those areas will more predicative of our chances of another 10 win season.

Nittany Lions have a bunch of studs coming back.

If Penn State isn’t an example of winning cures all then I don’t know what is. Hard to believe it was what (five years ago?) post all the Sandusky drama.
I sure hope Barkley goes to the NFL. Franklin’s done a helluva job getting his team to buy in. We will continue our trend of catching these top 10 teams when they’re hot.

Yea, I think we need to worry more about winning the next two games against Cusa teams other then if we win this game. Lets compete, learn some things, stay injury free, and get out of there ready to go on a winning streak. Bout as good as we can ask for I think.

That is impressive. Silver lining is that he will be without his go to TE and probably Barkley. But the kid is a gamer.

From what I see on TV tonight and then glancing at Penn State OL roster....I think they can block stiff arming with one arm and eat a sandwich with the other.....they are huge.

Can't see our new QB who has yet to be named airing it out game one. Probably be heavy run, which won't be enough to beat Penn State. They've got some studs coming back and coming in recruiting. Also their QB will probably have a Baker Mayfield type season next year. I'd feel more comfortable if Lamb were a senior in next year.

Maybe academically, but on the field he's got one more year. Have not heard of him high on draft boards. I'd expect him to return.

I would expect him back. He doesnt have the measurable of an NFL QB.
