Wofford ILB Coach Greg Gasparato is the first official announced football
hire. Just going to link a few articles below. Hands are still trying to thaw out.

Interesting that we made a hire without hiring our DC first?

I thought the same thing. But we haven't officially lost our DC either. Strange either way with the rumors of Woody leaving.

If Nate is leaving or if he isn't doesn't matter. We had a spot open with Sloan's departure and it's filled. And if Nate is leaving I'm putting money down that we've already hired our new DC. But we can't announce until Nate's departure is announced. Simple as that.

Satt is good at evaluating talent; both players and coaches. Whatever happens with the rest of the defensive staff all will be fine.

I agree firemoose. Either Woody's staying and made the hire or the yet to be announced new DC OK'd it. It does give us something else to speculate on though.

Satt has a plan for replacing everyone on the staff and he will make the best decisions possible. Speculating is like sitting in a rocking chair. Sure it gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.

Certainly agree about Scott's hiring ability but I don't think he would make a hire without input from the Coordinator, whoever it may be. That's why it makes sense that the DC will either still be Woody or someone else Scott has already chosen but hasn't been able to announce.

Not a thing wrong with that. And please know I wasn't jumping on either one of you. I'm trying to thaw out and checking for frostbite so I was in a hurry to post the reply. When I'm dealing with things like that I tend to fall back on my training and experience. Short and to the point. And that can come across as jackass in the right situations. Sorry about that. ;)

Also I have to keep in mind that I haven't posted much of anything on the whole NW, Ga Tech, SS, Southern, D Staff situation. Do I know more than I've posted? Well..given I haven't posted anything until now I think you could safely assume the answer is yes. But the only ones that know it all are the ones in the big brick building that has a big green field in front of it.

I love how everyone has said the same thing Moose has, but with different verbage. It's like some weird coping mechanism; we all must say this thing over and over again. Too funny!

I had a feeling about Gasparato. Always interesting to see who follows who on Twitter and how recent those follows were.

Anybody outside of the App family that recently followed him and/or other coaches?

Now that I got my sarcastic post out of the way.

I would gather from this hire the 3-4 is here to stay no matter who the new DC is, if there is a new DC.

A lot of positive reinforcement and praising... not enough yelling and attitude for me... at least from that clip
