Both Troy and South Alabama have hosted several SEC and Big 12 teams. I think Pac-12 and B1G as well, even if it was previous Sun Belt teams.

South Alabama is a little different due to the recruiting exposure in the panhandle. Troy is much more comparable to us.

Wonder if our AD gave his old employer a call and is getting Mizzou to come to town. As mentioned previously, they traveled to Jonesboro a few seasons back. stAte almost beat them too.

That leaves only one more home OOC needed for 2023.

At a glance, I noticed we need one more road OOC for 2019 too. We need to get on that.
Why not another home OOC in 2019 instead of a road game?

Balance future schedules maybe. The type of team we want to help with SOS would want a home and home I assume. Speculation on my part

A money game in Columbia would be fine but playing Clemson, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and Penn State is more impressive. another game in SC would be good for recruiting...

Still leaves 2023 open, however I doubt they would add a third SB team to their schedule.

What good would playing at Wisconsin do for our recruiting?

Chances for a game on the Big 10 Network is better exposure than being buried on “The Tres”.

I think of teams we have played before, and maybe even beaten, and that could bring lots of their own fans.

The announcement for any future games/series/etc will come whenever the Dept feels they can get the most out of them. Just like we announced the A&M game two days before we had 75 recruits up for spring practice, or last year when the $10 mil donation was announced just before our Thursday national TV game with Southern. Was supposed to be the night of the game but it leaked out early.

They'll come when they comes and I for one will be glad when this one does. Won't be making this mistake again. ;)

Moose. Don't know what it's been like for you personally. But it's been kinda fun having something to speculate /anticipate about. So thanks!

Moose knows before everybody knows and keeps his secrets while the pendulum of negotiations swing to and fro lest the opponent changes their mind and says no, ya know?

Ben Franklin once said don’t count your chickens before they hatch. And he also said some other important things.

I thought my post was pretty clear that I was talking about all types of future things like one off games/H & H series or other types of series/truly "major" announcements/etc. But since it appears it wasn't I've edited it. As far as counting chickens before they hatch, I don't do that. For one thing I've said dozens of times that "nothing is official until it's OFFICIAL" (very definition of not counting anything before it's hatched). Two, it makes me hungry looking at all those eggs. And three, I know that this particular deal that started this whole thing is in the exact stage I referenced in the previous, edited post. "Guessing" here but maybe we want to make the announcement at the same time?

People should keep their eyes on the App State Athletics twitter feed and App State Sports as that's where it'll first come out.

And once again, until it's officially announced it ain't OFFICIAL!!

Thinking we need a head banging against a wall smilie in our little group of them

Word is we have a scheduling announcement "scheduled" for 3:00. Here's hoping it's the one this has been all about.
