And we have too navigate a post Lamb/Gossett et al world I like the mention but I dont see us in the same light that SI does especially with some new coaches, a retooled line and a new QB

I’m all for these publications and the exposure. Lost to wake, Throttled by UGA, blew it vs TN, leveled by Miami, curb stomped by Michigan, run out of the stadium by VT, haven’t beaten ecu in my lifetime. Literally, literally have only beaten 2 P5 teams in the history of app State football, the latest one was 11 years ago.

I’m not holding my breath.

I would expect this game to get out of hand early. Which could be a good thing long term. Give us a chance to see who can do what at QB.

These articles are nice publicity but they are really just reputation based. It doesn't look like much research went into this one. I wish I felt like App had much of a chance, but this one unlikely at best. That being said, I felt the same way in 2007. We would truly have to have a perfect storm including several new starters for App playing like gangbusters and Penn State making some mistakes.

I actually think we'll be better this season than last. We have lot of great talent coming back. We also run a system that requires the qb to manage the game and limit mistakes. Since I have been an App fan since the 90s, we have not had bad quarterback play. Every QB we've had in recent memory has been darn good. This game will be interesting.

We will win this one. 32 - 29.

Should we not have the 100 day countdown before we have the first prediction?

Though I do appreciate the enthusiasm.

Nothin's sacred these days. I was actually calculating how many days until the (bull feces) Orlando Sentinel countdown begins........ it was far too many days for me to be excited - and then the snow started falling.

13-66. We did. I was in the band and had to sit through the entire agonizing day. I can still hear that annoying turkey sound they play after a touchdown because I heard it so many times that day. Went into that season with high hopes as well ranked #2 in the FCS.

I’m not gonna lie, I think the Wake game broke me. I can’t get excited about another big P-5 regular season matchup.

Obviously our win at Michigan was and probably still is the biggest upset in college football history. Who would be second? In my mind in order for a game to come under this consideration the big opponent would have to finish the year either highly ranked or still win a bowl game. If memory serves Michigan still finished about 8-4 and beat Florida in a decent bowl game. That being said who is second? The main reason for this question is to show how tough it is for teams at our level to knock off a big boy.

JMU in 2010 beating a VT team that would go undefeated in the ACC and play in the Orange Bowl.

bcoach has always been in denial about whether or not we played VT. I've tried to block it out of my mind as well as I've been an App football fan since 1979 and that has to be by far the worst football game I've ever seen us play...and I had just moved into a neighborhood that has an unusually large VT population for the NC Triad area. Horrible.
