my guy in Boone said they interviewed 5 guys yesterday - Satterfield - Tim Horton off coord at Arkansas - Lonnie Galloway WF - Mike O'Cain former head coach at State, current asst at VT and John Shoop former off coord at unc ---

to me its Satterfields to lose, Horton is interesting, never been a headcoach, but a great recruiter Galloway got ties to school, but never even been an OC, to me, he doesnt meet the qualifications, and the other two are just journeymen coaches, hoping for a new start, they dont bring anything new to the table, I think they would be a mistake. For what its worth, just my two cents.

I hope it is Satterfield, but will he be head coach, offisive cord., and Qb coach. Or do we hire a new person for his old roles.

I for one have been a cobb supporter but please do not grab from the acc cess pool satterfield should be the man

I don't think we can miss with any of them outside of maybe O'cain. I would be surprised if Satterfield didn't get it though. Galloway still owns a home here and has deep familial ties to App (see possible longevity)although he probably has the weakest resume.

Im going to admit it would have been nice to see 1 defensive minded coach on the list as putting up points isn't the issue in Boone.

Satterfield is probably most likely and I'd be okay with him. Horton is very intriguing. Would be okay with him too. Hadn't considered Galloway. Don't know if he's quite ready to be HC. The other two; NO!

Horton or Satt. If Satt, wonder if Galloway would be interested in OC?

Or if Satt he could double as OC and we could use that money for a DC.

I'm not a fan of the head coach also being the offensive or defensive coordinator. If Satterfield would stay as the OC, I would go with Horton.

Reports on Internet say Bielema has retained Horton on the staff at Arkansas. I'd say he's off the table now.

Wonder if we'll finally get a special teams coach...

We've had two prospects commit to us since Coach Moore was fired (...OK, not rehired). Neither would have committed to us had they been uncertain who the head coach would be.

I'm betting Satterfield will be announced tomorrow.

The OP asks "Who would you LIKE as the next Head Coach?"

That NEEDS to happen. The sooner we get a new HC officially hired, the sooner we can start the new era and get some of this unpleasantness behind us. Also for the recruiting aspect, this does not need dragging out.

Once again, we start with skill guy and are in desparate need of hosses on both sides of the ball. This BS right now needs to get settled and the staff needs to go get some bulldozers. We also need a stud QB in the pipeline in a bad way.

People sure do forget that we have at least 1, if not 2 qbs who didn't get much playing time this season for one reason or another.

Well, one of those guys will be a junior next year(or is it a senior?) At best, he'll have one year as a potential starter, so that does not really help much for down the road. This is another reason we need to get an FBS invite sooner rather than later. We need to see if we can get a QB in here that can get the job done at a high level.
