Non-conference games are Sept. 1, 8, 15 and 22, so everything else is free except for Dec. 8, which will be the inaugural Sun Belt Championship game.

Man, I see a lot of potential weeknight games on that conference schedule. Brace yourselves...

No one can say we play a weak conference schedule this coming season.

Is there a limit to how many one team can play in a season? And don’t tell me yes, 12.

A limit of 3 (no more than 2 @ home or 2 away) was mentioned by sunbelt on that board when App joined but not sure it is in writing

We get a minimum of two Thursday games and likely three, just hope for only one at home and call it a good schedule.

I’d be more concerned if we didn’t get any.

My money is in the obvious one, Southern on the road, and either Louisiana or Georgia St.

I thought about Troy, and it could very well be one, but they may want that one for the last game of the year. A Championship Saturday before Championship Saturday.

Something to remember they do not want to end up with what happened in the MWC last year. Fresno and Boise faced off back to back weeks.

Good point. As long as it isn’t Ga St. They are close enough to bring a decent crowd for a Saturday contest.

Correct. Presumably the final week will be mostly divisional games. Though Troy is in our division so that's a possibility (and would be pretty cool considering those will be the two favorites in the East).

I see Troy and @stAte as likely weeknight games, GS as more likely than not, and GSU as a darkhorse.

Weeknight games are tough to be fair to both teams. MAC schedule was released and Toledo ends with Saturday 10/20 H, Thursday 10/25 A, Wednesday 10/31 H, Wed 11/7 A, Thurs 11/15 A, Fri 11/23 H.
5 weeknight games in a row with the last one against CMU who would have been off since 11/10 - 13 days versus 8. 75% of MAC games seem to move to weeknights so the days off are closer to fair but ridiculous for fan bases to attend.
Sunbelt has to be very careful to not create disadvantages with number of days between games and travel.
Weeknight games Akron 2, BGSU 2, Buffalo 4, Kent State 4, Miami 5, Toledo 5, Ball St 5, CMU 1, EMU 1, NIU 4, WMU 5.

I hope that the Sun Belt looks at the crowd impression on a week night game and opt to fight for more Saturday games. An empty stadium just looks plain bad on TV. If it is a week night game that I attend, it has to be a game that has my interest. UNCC on a week night would have no interest to me, but a Troy on a week night would in respect that we would be fighting for a conference championship position.

College football is meant to be played on Saturday.

Hope the Sun Belt never"sales it's soul to the devil". Just hard to beat a Saturday game day atmosphere. 1weeknight game a year should be the limit. Hard to beat the exposure though.

Yep. We're one of the Fun Belt's most successful and popular programs, so we're going to land on the conference's biggest regular season stage (Thursday night ESPN1/2) more than most teams. Three is typical, so we just hope that two are away.

I'm betting on these three games for App on Thursdays:

Troy at App
App at Arky
App at Stink

Hopefully we host the Conference Championship game on a Saturday. Arky rematch at home because the SBC West is trash.
