Re: Starting QB
In his Yosef Tour remarks Satterfield said that Thomas is the starter.
If serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you.

Re: Starting QB
What is 7-A in Bama? Is that like our Super 4-A (or whatever it is called)?

Re: Starting QB
Thanks for your thoughts fellas. I watched some of Browns Hudl and he looked pretty good. Needs to get in the weight room and put on some weight though.

More importantly he needs to learn the system, routes, and read college defenses. The speed of the game increases dramatically from high school. Film and repetition.ASUGrad2014 wrote: ↑Sat May 26, 2018 5:40 amThanks for your thoughts fellas. I watched some of Browns Hudl and he looked pretty good. Re: Starting QB
I like Brown a lot and thought he’d have a real chance to win the job. Sounds like Thomas really stepped up and separated himself from the group before much of a competition ever really developed. My impression is that Satt is pretty confident in him.
Now right tackle might be a different story. Maybe that’s where we should focus the message board threads between now and September.

Largest high schools in Alabama. Student body of at least 1046 students. Goes up to over 2000 students. Schools were just reclassified for 2018-2020 enrollment. 7A schools are separated into four regions for playoffs.

Re: Starting QB
Matt Williams and Baer Hunter are the likely right side of the O-line. Of course, that's subject to change before the season gets here. Coach said both of them have added some significant bulk, too.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Sat May 26, 2018 9:28 amI like Brown a lot and thought he’d have a real chance to win the job. Somebody will start at RT. Whether they are effective remains to be seen.DaphneUrquhart wrote: ↑Sat May 26, 2018 3:10 pmMatt Williams and Baer Hunter are the likely right side of the O-line. Re: Starting QB
There will be several changes to the roster as they update it over the next few weeks. Some removals (including a surprise here and there) and several additions. And a couple of mistakes are possible so everyone should just sit back for a little while until it's finished.

Allow me to clarify. I got the chance to speak with Satt for a few minutes not long after spring practice ended. He said (as he’s apparently said publicly since) that Thomas had won the QB job, and he sounded pretty confident that he’ll do well. He also said he felt good about RG (which I took to be referring to Hunter, though he didn’t mention him by name).
He sounded less confident about RT. Said that spot was still TBD.
Doesn’t mean we won’t find someone who will ultimately play well. Just a snapshot of where we are right now.

Re: Starting QB
Satt confirmed "on tour" that Thomas is the QB ... right now. In a conversation later, he said to several of us that Hunter and Williams were penciled in at RG and RT.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 6:02 pmRekdiver wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 11:42 amI was looking at the roster and I can’t find Somebody....EastHallApp wrote: ↑Sat May 26, 2018 10:39 pmSomebody will start at RT. We all know that things can easily change between now and Penn State. IMO it would be unusual to see exactly the same starting lineup in game four that we see in game one. We've only got 10 seniors this year. That leaves lots of room for young players to step up and prove themselves. I'm sure the coaches already have Plan B and C and D lined up.

Re: Starting QB
Based on everything I've heard regarding Zac Thomas and what limited amount we've seen of him, he's going to be really, really good.
Hunter and Williams must have shown a lot in Spring ball because Greer and Edge-Campbell have quite a bit of PT under their belts.

From the limited time I've seen him play, I've noticed a lot of athleticism, coordination, and speed from Zac. I agree, he's going to be really, really good!!

Re: Starting QB
I have no doubt we have two is not three QBs on the roster that have more tangible athletic talent than Lamb, it will remain to be seen if they have the intangibles, probably won’t know for another year. I know this board won’t be, but we should be patient. Hopefully Satt and the oline will help out QB1 is a position to be successful.
