They tend to forget other poorly coached line players from "smaller schools" like Kilgore and Lamm, Blair and Hunter to name a few.

P5 snobs!

Only way to shut them up is to beat 'em. Luckily we get another chance this September.

The only thing this southern lady can say about those coaching quality comments is, "Bless their little hearts."

What burns my biscuits is them calling App a "small school" in the mountains. They need to check the undergrad enrollment and compare it to some P5 schools like Wake Forest and Duke.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Folks they use "small/smaller school" synonymously with anything less than P5s not really accurately reflecting actual enrollment. You can't fix Stupid.

"Mario Cristobal managed to not only find diamond in the rough players while at FIU, but he also sparked the careers of Geoff Collins, Scott Satterfield, and Todd Orlando who are all now considered innovative minds in the college game."

" It’s also worth pointing out Scott Satterfield has been one of the most consistent Group of Five conference coaches since Appalachian State moved up to the FBS level."

"Friday Five: Ranking the top college football coaching candidates on the rise.....4. Scot Satterfield, Appalachian State coach"

These are just a small sample of accolades for Satterfield for his coaching abilities.

Dude is still working on his batchelors degree from Grand Valley State according to his bio.

At bigger schools like Appalachian State our professors teach us how to do our research better than those small schools like Grand Valley State...... :ugeek:

In the immortal words of Deadpool: "Well, that's just lazy writing!"

Writers always want to use the "small school" moniker to differentiate between P5 and G5. It's really not accurate at all. App is certainly smaller than most flagship Universities, but hardly small. I found it especially amusing to hear that term used in reference to UCF following their undefeated season. UCF has over 66K students and I believe is the second largest University (enrollment) in the country.

Pitiful.
