I know it wasn't completely UNCC's decision for this kickoff, but I am sure they had some input. Not sure they know what they are getting into. Its gonna get ugly.

From the UNC Charlotte Website. They'll be adding extra seats to the App Game.

"The Charlotte 49ers will offer a presale of single game tickets to current FSL owners on June 11 and to all 49ers' season ticket holders on June 18.

Also, approximately 2,500 seats will be added for the Sept. 8 home game vs. Appalachian State, which is anticipated to be the largest attended game in the 49ers' six-year history and 49ers Director of Athletics Mike Hill wanted to make sure the 49ers fan base had the first opportunity to obtain tickets.

"This will be an exciting day -- the birth of a rivalry -- and we want to make sure Niner Nation is out in full force," said Hill . "Our goal is to give our ardent fan base the first opportunity to buy tickets, starting with our opener vs. Fordham."

The single-game pre-sale will last until July 30. If any single-game tickets remain, they will go on sale to the general public, July 31."

So didn't see anything on the ESPN+ besides basketball, but now seems I won't get all the App football games on ESPN3 which pisses me off.

Ardent is the wrong word....

Perfect! Plenty of time to get some things done in the morning, then drive down to tailgate while also not making it not too late of a drive back home. Most excited about this game minus Conference champ game or bowl game.

Love the 6:00 kickoff! That's going to be a hot day so the later start will be great...although the niner's are gonna be feeling the heat on the field from the Mountaineers.

Translation:

"Starting this season, we're doing what EVERY other FBS school in America does by offering tickets to our donors before the general public. We're doing this because we're concerned App fans will buy them all. We're concerned App fans will buy them all because we realized after the fact that App fans already bought thousands of discounted tickets....that went on sale to the general public before they went on sale to the donors."

You can't make this stuff up, folks.

My friends who are not Yosef Club members but really want this stadium full of black and gold will be buying the UNCC season ticket package. Reasoning is it's about $100ish for the whole thing and StubHub prices all exceed $150 as of right now for this game.

They will then ceremoniously burn all the other tickets at our tailgate fires during pregame activities, thus leading to more unfilled empty seats for the rest of the UNCC season. It's a win win.

We WILL overwhelm their stadium with App fans. The last time we played Wake in 2001 at Groves over half the stadium was App and that was a 30k stadium. It will feel like our home away from home practice field.

Buying season tickets at UNC-C is actually a pretty good option for App fans. They are 100 per ticket and I will assume it's going to be a pretty popular ticket on the secondary market. If you can offload a couple of games at huge discounts, like 5 bucks a game it offsets some of the cost and you are really not much, if any worse off than buying other ways. Only reason I didn't do it is because i donated the $100 to the Yosef Club and got tix through them, but i still think its viable for some folks who really want a ticket.
