App Mention in Jalen Hurd Article

Got to love this gem in a recent article with Jalen Hurd about his change from RB at UT to WR at Baylor

"Baylor is reinventing itself; I'm reinventing myself. We both have a lot to prove."

It's a multimillion-dollar gamble.

After the season opener in 2016, after grinding out another 100-yard game and adding to his 2,000-plus yards in his first two years at Tennessee, Hurd began to seriously consider a career change.

His body ached after an overtime victory over Appalachian State. It was a punishing reminder of his pinballing between the tackles while absorbing the blows that came with those 28 rushing attempts."

Still mad we didn't walk away with the W. We took it to those guys.

That's pretty impressive that we punish a RB so much that he is forced him into a career changing decision. He encountered a bunch of gang tackles and hard hits during that game. Here are just a few examples:

Except for Bama, we may have had the best linebacking Corp in the country that season.

That was absolutely one of our best defensive performances of all time. Our players were flying all over the ball carriers all game. We had multiple tacklers on almost every play.

Letting this one slip away still hurts, but the WF game last year is even worse to me. Being a home game and renewed rivalry with a geographic p5 rival...

If we had Rauch in those games we win walking away

That’s the difference between winning at Michigan and losing UT and WF

If Satt had replaced Rubio after the first week we would have won the WF game. There is no way he was performing better in practice.

And our play calling in OT against UT was terrible.

Your first statement is likely true. Without being there hard to know about the second.

Supposition , all the way around. A bounce of the ball and we could have won. “If” . “But”. “Candy and nuts”

True but an extra point wins the UT game.

We missed a field goal and with a reliable kicker we probably take another field goal shot at end of regulation instead of forcing downfield and running out of time.

I understand. A lot of plays in a close game can turn it one way or the other....
