Howard Knob run results
Observations.
1. The punter won by over two minutes.
2. Zac Thomas finishing 4th is eye-opening in a good way.
3. Impressive seeing Daetrich running just five months after tearing his ACL.
4. Sometimes 100-yard dash speed doesn't mean 2.8-mile Category 2 climb speed.

Re: Howard Knob run results
When we were growing up we hiked to The Fire Tower almost every week during the summer. We'd fill up on wild blackberries and strawberries along the way. My grandparents lived at the base of Junalaska Road and they had cherry trees, apple trees, grapes, and blueberries growing in their yard. There was not one ounce of fat on us from head to toe. Our parents had to come looking for us at sunset (pissed off of course, LOL), we were going all day long. Anyway, now days it's a different story. PS - I didn't mean to hijack the thread, Howard's Knob and running just brought back memories. LOLT-Dog wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 11:18 pm

Everyone on the board finished in under an hour. That’s pretty darn good.

13 that are listed on the roster didn't run. Duck isn't on the list either. First glance says most are probably dinged up recently and that's why. Not going to make someone run if it could make even the slightest injury worse, not this close to the start of fall camp. Might not explain all but probably most.

Flip side is, in addition to Harrington (and D'Marco Jackson from last year's knee rehab) it's good to see guys like Mock Adams, Jeremy Level, Evans, etc, who battled lower body injuries all last season, on the list. Hopefully they are all back healthy and can see the field this year.

Interesting, for some reason I thought maybe going up by Earth Fare would be the way. Either way, based upon my climb up Lookout in Montreat today I probably will be camping somewhere about half way and finish the next day.S.Lewis15 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 2:33 pmThe route would probably be similar to this:

I was especially pleased to see Harrington on the list.Hoping he is ahead of schedule but not wanting him to risk a setback.firemoose wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 10:43 amFlip side is, in addition to Harrington (and D'Marco Jackson from last year's knee rehab) it's good to see guys like Mock Adams, Jeremy Level, Evans, etc, who battled lower body injuries all last season, on the list. Re: Howard Knob run results
He should win. The punter doesn't have the soreness and bruises, just been stretching the legs booming punts.
