From AppStateSports.com, a nice little FAQ re ESPN+, which App will be playing on multiple times this year.

https://appstatesports.com/news/2018/8/ ... -espn.aspx

I haven't signed up for it yet. Going to wait until Fri before UNCC to get the 7 day free trial. I was messing around with ESPN+ trying to get a feel for it and troubleshoot any potential issues before game day, and it seems like a pretty clean and easy to use app. It looks like they are phasing out WatchESPN and transitioning to this. From the programming lineup I saw, it doesn't look like there's going to be much that is worth watching on WatchESPN for free anymore. One issue, if you have older versions of Apple TV (I do), I don't think you can get it on there.

Just still pissed we have to pay for something that was free.

I haven’t seen any new app yet.

I am paying for it because its where you will find most college sports in the near future that aren't on major networks. It would be a tremendous bonus if it included ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU.

So, I don't mean to be dense, but is there a specific app that has to be loaded? From my laptop, I can go to search ESPN+ and it takes me to a website where I can install the app. There is no ESPN+ app on Google Play or Microsoft store though. Does it have to be installed from the ESPN site?

OK...as a double check, I went back onto my ESPN app on Firestick and there is an update. One the update loaded, the option is there. Duh! I apparently like making things difficult.

Not sure about other platforms, but on Roku from the Roku App store, the ESPN app is all encompassing. If you are trying to tune in to WatchESPN content you authenticate through your Cable credential. If you are trying to access ESPN+ content you authenticate through your newly established ESPN+ account.

I got it through Roku and I was surprised how easy it was. Just added to my existing ESPN app, all they asked was for my Roku verification which has my payment information already. The offer was for only 7 days free for me, though.
