Triad Viewing Party for PSU?

Unread post by hotrod2001 » Wed Aug 29, 2018 7:48 am

Anyone in the Greensboro area know if they've set up a viewing party yet? I keep checking the Alumni page and nothing's posted.

In the triad, the only group hosting something is the Forsyth Chapter, in W-S, I'm apart of it, It's at:

I live in Greensboro, but i'll be in North Myrtle Beach for the weekend. The Triad Alumni group usually meet at World of Beer along Westover Terrace in Greensboro, but like you said, nothing's been posted (strange, Meghann Murphy '12 is usually pretty good at arranging). But I do know the W-S/Forsyth Alumni group will be meeting (location posted above), so will the Alamance County/Burlington group. They'll be meeting @

Home of Lee and LuAnn Isley
2062 Nottingham Ln.
Burlington, NC 27215

Hope this helps.

GSO never does anything and it sucks. So many alum here. I’ve told the alumni director before, but nothing ever seems to be done.

Local chapters are all volunteers. The Alumni Association themselves does very little other than helping communicate events & provide some funding. All event planning is upto the Chapter Leadership.

I recommend reaching out to Patrick Setzer and let him know you want to reignite the GSO chapter. Have them send out an email to garner “interest”. We had 5 or 6 solid board members in the Triangle and sent such e-mail out early last spring. We now have nearly tripled the size of our Leadership board. This will allow us to do more events. Just because you reach out doesn’t mean you have to assume the role of President.

Also, as a FYI some communications/ prodding of Chapters may be slightly lagging right now. The person who was the Chapter liason in the Alumni Office left for another position within the University. As such, the Alumni Office currently has a key open position they are working to fill.

Well we did a lot of things last year at Char Bar 7 and we had a pretty good turnout at those things. I know people have lives and most of the alumni stuff is volunteer-based but Greensboro of all places should have something strong going on with the hotbed of alumni based here.

I attend a lot of games, but was unable to make this one.... so I wound up at Char Bar 7. It would be easy to just go ahead and name that as the official place to go watch App Games in Greensboro. They had it on the Big Screen and multiple bar tvs as well.

Char bar was in 2016; correct? I was told they were not interested in hosting our events anymore.
