After that performance against a top 10 team, App State should be ranked in the top 25 this week. We will see!

Re: Official penn St thread
To be honest, I don't mind at this point that our team's not getting tons of accolades. I'd rather they go through the season with a chip on their shoulder and with something to prove. Seems like Toledo was getting way more respect last year heading into the Dollar General Bowl and then our guys went down there and put on a football clinic. If we stay healthy and take things one game at a time, these guys are going to have a great season!appstate77 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 8:49 amNot necessarily hap. ESPN radio has been talking about how underrated APP is and how we should be taken more seriously.hapapp wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 6:30 amFrankly, that's been the general response nationally. The take has been what's wrong with Penn State, less what a good performance by App State. It's impossible, in most cases, to judge a season by the season opener. It may turn out that PSU is not as good as many thought. Or, they could run the table.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 6:22 amOff topic here, I was watching The BTN and the broadcasters were making their weekly predictions. Dave Wannstedt predicted that Pitt would beat PSU as evidenced by their performance against us, no respect for us whatsoever. I hope PSU runs the table, and this weekend beats the crap out of Pitt by a least three TDs! Wannstedt, what a jack ass!

At the end of the day, until we start finishing the job in games like Tennessee, Wake Forest, and now PSU the respect will not be there. Unfortunately, it is what it is.

While the surrounding cast of players let him down a little in the 07 Natty, he has been in the League quite a while and does have a super bowl to his credit.

Leaving the stadium, we spoke with several fans. None of them believed us when we told them that was ZT’s first start and that he is a Sophomore.

That was one of my favorite parts of the post game "rehydration" session.
One guy actually slammed his fist on the table, causing beer to splash up, and said "YOU'RE SHITTIN' ME!"

I told every PSU fan on our trek back to the parking field that I hoped that was their closest win and their check doesn't bounce.

Re: Official penn St thread
Here is what we learned this past weekend.
We can play with a top P5 team for the full 60 minutes.
No lead is insurmountable as long as there is time on the clock and talent on the field.
Coach Brown can call a good game on the defensive side of the ball.
We have at least one QB with ice water in his veins and a cannon for an arm.
The entire offensive playbook is open for use now that we at least one QB that Satterfield has confidence that can execute the plays. (no disrespect to Lamb, he was a winner)
No Boggs, no Stringer, no Fuller, no problem.
We have a lot of talent.
It’s great to be a Mountaineer!

Re: Official penn St thread
Agree totally except, and I know it was just one play, but I think we have at least two QBs with ice water in their veins...Peyton Derrick was amazing in that situation.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 6:14 pmHere is what we learned this past weekend.

Where did he come from? Thought Hussmsan Brown or Gibbs would be the back-up

Huesman and Derrick were both listed on the 2 deep. It could have been a situational decision or truly representative of where they stand.

Sports Illustrated
In the third quarter and overtime, at least, Penn State proved it was the more talented team—against the second-youngest roster in FBS ball, straight out of one of the game’s weakest conferences....

Hate we lost but what a game...... superb performance.......not going to state any negatives......I give A grades to every group....it just didn't turn our way at last.
Job well done to all the team and coaches ....great effort!
We will correct compose and get better and Zac Thomas has the stones.....wow! I knew Zac had the talent but to debut like that....I'm impressed!
Hope there isn't much drop off at UNCConcord.
I hope we step on the gas and pulverize those high minded chumps. Make Halloween Wofford style on them and quitely whistle walking off the field...hang 70 with our 3rd string.

The pucker factor for Penn State in the 4th quarter was off the charts. Can't believe we outgained them in yardage and won the time of possession. More than pleased with Zac's ability to throw the football. He hit 9 different receivers with 26 passes for just under 300 yards. We averaged 11.2 yards per reception and 4.3 yards per carry against the #10 Big Ten Penn State. The difference in penalty yards was one factor that hampered us. If I had any criticisms it would be that at times we missed a few tackles. Got to give credit to us for not mailing it in when we got down by two scores, and you have to give credit to Penn State to pull it out after we got in their heads.
We are going to be really good this year. Lots of talent on both sides of the ball. We played Penn State straight up. No gimmicks or trick plays. I hope the team is as hungry as we are after being so close on Saturday. If so, this season could be special.
Time to make an example of CUSA.

Re: Official penn St thread
Did anyone see the game today? They actually called a holding penalty on Penn State early in the game. This is not fake news, I saw it. 9 total penalties on them today. They only had 2 penalties called on them the entire game I think when App played them. They beat the crap out of Kent State 63-10. I hope they win out.
Give Em Hell!!
