Some of these ECU idiots think they could get or could have gotten Satterfield in Greenville.

Looks like most of the posters piled on the OP and said Sat would be crazy to make that move, which he would be.

Fingers crossed we can hold on to him a couple more years 🤞

I really think Satterfield will eventually get an offer he cannot refuse. I just hope that when he's poached away from App State it's to a P5 program and not another G5 with deeper pockets.

Obviously we have beaten this topic to death but our dead end conference will ultimately give Satt no real choice- if he wants another bigger challenge and more $. If we continue winning 10 games a year and play in the same bowl games we are stuck.

No one can argue against more money but the bigger challenge is taking his underfunded alma mater to the next level and beating his overpaid challengers in a NY6 bowl game.

THIS.
I know it’s a little pollyannaish but
The above is our hope right there. As an alum of App State, passion for App State achieving is paramount. Coach Satt may have limited interest in being a mercenary and head coaching for any other school when his heart is at App State. Asst. coach to gain outside experience/perspective? Sure. But head coach? What better motivation (besides $$ obviously) to have than a mission for being THE man to take your alma mater to new heights?
In this case, if he ever ended up staying I would understand it’s because he is one of us, it’s more than a job as that’s all it would be head coaching elsewhere.

He grew up in Hillsboro. His next job will be at UNC replacing the idiot Fedora. Staying close to home will be driven by his wife who is from Wilkesboro. Could happen after this season.

You think he would leave only to coach against App and the kids he recruited next season?

Funny how fans of our in-state schools come out whenever we get national respect and attention. I saw where a little NC State fan was tweeting how we celebrate losses. They just can’t stand it when we get good press because they have been so irrelevant for so long and never get mentioned in any national conversations. They just hide behind their conference banner and want you to believe that Clenson’s success is their success.

Actually Beth grew up in Bakersville, which is near Spruce Pine.

I would vomit if he left for UNC after this season and we had to play against him.

Right, Saw some ECU fans saying we take non-qualifiers and that’s why we played so well during the PSU game. We just need to curb stomp every single in state school coming up on the schedule these next few years. Finishing off some of these big P5 schools would be nice too!

Beth is a Mitchell County product. Her family may have moved . I don't know. In any event if there is a silver lining to the PSU game it's that had we won ,the odds on keeping this staff another year would have likely gotten significantly smaller.

Beth's dad was my high school football coach in Bakersville. He passed away 5-6 years ago. Her mother and brother still live in Spruce Pine.

UNC would chew him up and spit him out. He isn't a big enough name for the majority of their fans and that program is becoming a dumpster fire. Please Sat, if you eventually leave (and I hope you never do), at least go to a football school where you don't have to play second fiddle to the basketball team. Preferably to an SEC school.

Talked to a UNC fan on Sunday who said Fedora might not finish season. When I expressed concern that Satterfield might be their next coach(next year not this year)...the comment was "who is Scott Satterfield?". Proof that they won't pursue him because of elitist attitude.
