Betting Lines

Betting lines. I don’t understand how they determine them. I was shocked to see the line for r CLT at -13. They think we coming in with a hangover?

Vegas wants even money on both sides of the line. It will likely be 17 before Saturday.

PSU @ Pitt opened at 9, down to 7.5 now.

Looks like Vegas is assuming general public will believe Penn St isn’t that good after Saturday.

Ga Southern is laying 2.5 to UMass. I like the Dog in this one.

Would assume Vegas feels people will think we will have a mental and physical letdown after the close loss at Penn State against an overmatched opponent. It would not suprise me if we come out and play down to their talent level before we take control in the second half. I have to believe our depth will help us alot if its a hot humid game like it should be.

We are way too loaded and the only way this game is close would be due to a conservative game plan full of run plays and possible special teams letdowns

If we play down to the competition this week I will be disappointed and concerned for the rest of the season as we just went toe-to-toe with best team on our schedule.

Even if we play non-enthused I believe a man can make some money giving the points on that line. Surely we are 14 better than the opponent even on a bad day from early indications.

No doubt we should dominate this game even with a "B" effort, but I hope we show up with an "A" effort. We need to reverse the pattern from last year. After the emotional loss to Wake, we were totally flat against Texas State (another team we should have dominated and another team that had targeted our game since the prior year). I feel very positive about this year's team. I think they are young and hungry....at least I hope so.

We should be mindful of that. Frankly, we were very fortunate to win that game with the Bobcats on the one yard line as the game ended. Each week brings a different dynamic. Yes, we SHOULD win easily on Saturday but our performance against Penn State guarantees nothing.

We played Texas St the week before Wake Forest. Our Offense really didn't find its groove last year until the Wake game and from there on we moved the ball fairly well.

Overall I'd be more worried about a letdown week if we'd won at Penn State, in the end we're still looking for our first W of the season and that will be enough motivation to lay the wood to uncc.

Not a gambler but what's the best legitimate source to place a bet based on this current spread?

Looks like its at 13.5 on ESPN.

Guess I'm seeing where ESPN is basing some of its prediction from (why they only give us 80% chance of winning).

We are at 74, UNCC at 116.
