I'm okay with this. I'm not sure how much any team can move up after a loss. If we win out we could find ourselves in the top 25.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 11:56 amThat's how much anyone is paying attention and giving us credit. A load of manure.
It's all about winning, the rest of the nation doesn't care about almost winning. It's about winning and moving on. Hence why Penn st is still at 10 and did not drop. Have to find ways to start winning these games.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 11:56 amThat's how much anyone is paying attention and giving us credit. A load of manure.
Bingo. If we want to be judged against the big boys we can't expect to be graded on a curve.MountaineerKidd wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 12:02 pmIt's all about winning, the rest of the nation doesn't care about almost winning. Kind of tough to win these games playing their refs too. Just says how much money was on the line with PSU losing, with them supposedly in the playoff picture.MountaineerKidd wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 12:02 pmIt's all about winning, the rest of the nation doesn't care about almost winning. You saw the curve Saturday. The playing field is slanted against a non P-5. App with 12 penalties for 110 yards and PSU with 2 penalties for 10 yards. Yea right?EastHallApp wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 12:27 pmBingo. We were satisfied with the performance, but it's all about the W. We still have a lot of work to do to get those penalties down and learn how to finish a great performance and win. That's when we can compete with the big boys.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 12:40 pmYou saw the curve Saturday. The playing field is slanted against a non P-5. Then why was Satt mentioning some of the calls as questionable?
I didn't say the calls weren't questionable. I was just pointing out the recent history of the two teams. I do believe that our staff thinks the refs were misinterpreting the chop block calls.appstate77 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 2:18 pmThen why was Satt mentioning some of the calls as questionable...(my word)
I've been saying all along that our next step, if we want to be recognized and respected, is to start winning these Power 5 games. Almost beating Tennessee, Wake and Penn State does not count and will not get you noticed...EastHallApp wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 12:27 pmBingo. In years past, those blocks were legal. This past offseason, the NCAA limited cut blocking to just 5 yards from the LOS.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 4:30 pmI went back and watched the game again yesterday. They only called the chop block on us one time near the beginning of the game. The other 2 were for blocks below the waist. Both occasions are lineman went low on someone in the linebacker area of the field. I don't know that they deserved the calls, but they didn't call chop block like I thought.
