Maybe it's just me, but I think the tone suggests we should not be expected to compete at this level.

Drag out the dead horse. Obviously there is a perceived and typically real difference in talent between the top programs and the “mid tier” levels. We seem to be narrowing the gap just a bit by finding those guys who are not 4 and 5 star blue chippers but do have talent, skills and desire. The last one really isn’t measured by recruiting folks. Whatever it is, coupled with superior coaching is part of a mix we seem to have on the mountain. Everyone knew coming into the game that PSU was replacing a bunch of guys on defense and everyone should have known that App was loaded with talented players on both sides of the ball. We should have won and it was an evenly played game- no shocker at all.

The promising thing is, we were replacing a lot of guys as well. I feel like Satt & Co. really have pinned down what type of athlete they need to make this Black and Gold Express run. If we can plug and play moving forward and be relevant as a top 5 G5 program year in and year out, I would love to see the National perception change. I thank the SunBelt for accepting us, but they are the scarlet letter that will keep us in the shadows when we all know we can handle the limelight.
