I suspect the "gold thing" is an attempt at having a visual impact for both the streaming audience on the screen and the players on the field as a contrast to whatever moldy green they wear. Gold will standout better and be more obvious from both vantage points, further illustrating the disparity between the number of App fans and Commuter fans.

For those that get on board with the idea, rock and roll with your gold! For those that have game day traditions and embrace the black of the Black & Gold, wear it proudly and yell loudly!

App fans can never go wrong wearing black, anywhere. I do have the gold “Together we Rise” shirt and my Gold Pro Combat Jersey...... all the rest of my gear is black.

Since this will be their largest crowd ever to see a football game. I hope everyone will consider bringing in App State banners and flags (w/o pole) to hang and hold up around the stadium. This will make it harder for them to Photoshop App State memorabilia out of the pics which they will most certainly try to use in UNCC marketing.

UNCC just released a youtube video showing that their team is going to wear green jersey and pants with a white helmet. I love how our entire fan base freaked out after seeing ONE promotional image of them with black jerseys. Knee jerk reactions are kind of our thing, I guess. I also can't imagine still being upset by the white-out. It was ONE GAME and it actually turned out much better than I expected (and WAAYYY better than our weak attempt at pinstriping the stadium). If you're honest with yourself you know that black-outs don't really create an effect that even comes close to the uniformity of a white-out. The players wanted to wear all white and they wanted the fans to do the same, but feel free to spin whatever conspiracy theory helps you sleep at night. If white is so antithetical to Appalachian State then why do some people still lobby for the white block A?
