What would be the problem with just putting it off 1 day and playing on Sunday after the Hurricane has passed.

That's what ECU and A&T did with that storm 2 weeks ago. It would be the best bet.

It's supposed to rain for days following the storm

Weather is only part of the equation. Resources needed for security and traffic control are needed.

The Southern Miss beat writer is raising the possibility of the App State-Southern Miss game being moved to Oct. 6 and our Oct. 9 date with Arkansas State being moved to Oct. 13. Count me as liking the idea.

The Euro model which had doom and gloom earlier has lightened up. Now 1-5 inches likely across all models for the High Country and the brunt of Florence hitting Raleigh.

ESPN2 game on the 9th, so unlikely to happen. Probably this weekend or be CANCELED.

Do you think ESPN would be that rigid as to not be willing to work with us?

Could just move the Ark St game to Thursday of that week. It’s not ideal, but stAte May show their conference mates some flexibility (TV concerns, I know) — especially after they came off looking like a jackass (though I agreed with them in principle) after the Miami ordeal.

Dont see the moving of a bunch of games around in order to play a non conference game happening. If Southern MIss is coming in friday night i expect the gametime to be moved up. If they are staying saturday night I could possibly see the game being pushed to sunday but thats probaly unlikely. My gut says this is a saturday game or a cancellation.

Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I say prepare to run the ball with a heavy dose of Moore inside zone right down their throat. Prepare to stop their run and #2. I think we will play the game in the rain. Bring your rain gear. This year can be special, if the team focuses on game prep and not hurricane what if’s.

I believe the flight situation might be the biggest challenge. How many flights will be canceled/reshuffled or severely delayed. I’d say if we do end up playing, USM will be worn out getting here. Flying and riding on a bus in wind/rain.

Based on the updated tracks of the storm I expect to play in Boone on Saturday. Obviously a fluid situation.

Anyone leaving the Myrtle Beach area, 501 N thru Conway and toward Florence is already a parking lot. We are on 378 toward Sumter and Columbia.

Be safe on the coast. Let’s play ball. Of course I defer to WXAPP!
